Sarah Palins Real American Stories special premiering tomorrow night is continuing to draw controversy today (also, we got a sneak peek of the show).
First it was LL Cool J, and now representatives for Toby Keith are speaking out about their surprise regarding the country stars inclusion in the show.
According to HitFix:
Keith, who says hes a registered Democrat, was not told about the usage of a past interview for Palins program. We were never contacted by Fox, his rep tells Hitfix.I have no idea what interview its taken from.Theyre promoting this like its a brand new interview. He never sat down with Sarah Palin."
Well we knew he wasnt interviewed by Palin, but he is a significant part of the special and more so than LL Cool J (and Jack Welch). His story is narrated by Palin.
But Fox tells us they did contact several members of Keiths team to make them aware that he would be part of the program, including Elaine Schock, his publicist, who spoke with a Fox News producer, and the USO, where his manager is on the board. An insider tells us Welch wasnt contacted either and as far as we know, is happy with his part in the show.

You’re assuming there aren’t liberals at Fox who wish to undermine Palin and conservatives. They couldn’t possibly be this stupid
This is one of the weirdest stories I have ever read. You are right, how could the network not have this all straightened out before hand? Also, I am not sure this is the direction Sarah Palin should be going in. Celebrity stories are ok for MTV or the Lifetime channel, but an interview with Toby Keith or worse L.L.Cool J does not give her any credibility as a serious contender for political office. Skip the interviews, Sarah, and find another niche to grow with.
Palin has dropped a lot of goody points when she campaigns for McCain.....I dont care what happens to her anymore.
good point....the RNC/GOP hates her
More fodder for the left..oh well. Palin would do well to wash her hands of most of the people she's had political/media contact with for the past couple of years, IMHO.
Keith always prefaces his support for the war by stating he’s a democrat. Cant trust someone who has to justify themselves.
This sounds a lot like what happened to her when McCain’s handlers were running things. Every day was another damaging leak. Now its Fox. What gives?
I am an American first before I am anything.
My country comes first. Maybe Toby should read a little from the Founding Fathers.
That said, Toby, if you don't like it, your piece can be scrubbed as well. There are thousands of real American stories out there that would love to have their stories told, even with Sarah doing the intro.
Oh, and by the way, I'm pretty sure whenever a network does an interview, the subject signs a form stating it can be used in an form the network deems fit.
IMO this was a setup from the start probably McAmnasty has his lettice hands involved in this. McAmnasty is using her and when he looses to JD, he will unleash the wife and the fat daughter on her like never before...
Pray for Sarah and her family.
A setup? Whatever - more like Fox is run by a bunch of interns.
C’mon. It’s just like “Superfly Meets Shaft”.
On the contrary, dems are so afraid to be connected to FNC in any way at all. Their livelihood is threatened.
Keith didn’t have any problems getting lots of publicity appearing with Sean Hannity.
He’s a fraud.
Yep, he is a weenie...after his Hollywood lib friends fried him for that song, he has been claiming to be a Dem.
What an embarrassment he was.
Not sure why he was on Sarah’s program anyway.
Why would she put Dems on and pretend like they are “real Americans”????????
She did not do any interview with the celebrities, it was stock film from months ago.....
No excuses for FOX. There are many wonderful American stories to tell. Instead they pick a coward ex rapper and a fat fool country communist that serves freaking beer to his horses. Whata joke.
Come on FOX we see all kinds of great Americans on FOX, why was it so hard to find a few real American stories involving real people who are not cowards?
FOX, man up. Palin is a nice person and deserves better than this.
Toby Keith sings at the Freedom Concerts.
