I’m quickly learning that the “Heartland of America” (quite frankly), sucks. (i.e. Illinois, Wisconsin, Iowa, Michigan, Indiana, etc...)
Do most people agree with this? How does a town do something so screwy?
It was enacted without council approval, apparently a violation of local procedure. Perhaps the edict can be reversed on those grounds.

Reminds me of the year when Pittsburgh’s mayor, not wanting to offend anyone, renamed the Christmas/Passover holidays as “Sparkle Season.” That was just awful. But then sometime thereafter, the name was changed to “Holiday Season With a Twist” (twist of what I don’t know — lemon? lime?). I think now it’s just called “the holidays” or the “holiday season.” But it’s still awful. Amazing how a fanatic few can control the majority.
I wonder what would happen to this idiot if he decided to PC an Islamic holiday .... Ramadan could be renamed “Hunger Month” or something like that ....
Not exactly true, but stipulating it for this post: Then don't be interfering with the Church by changing the long established name for the day.
