The lyrics are what they are - and they aren’t appropriate for children and frankly represent the degradation of our society. Sorry, no like.

Taking this lightly is exactly what hollywood wants you to do. Kids hear the melody and download the tune. Then the damage is done. It doesn’t matter that she mumbled the words.
If my kids were young I would have protested what we just watched. (You should watch anything from hollywood with your kids and discuss it later in the context of how it fits with your own values.)

Perhaps allowing children to watch things that screws up their formative years causes the problems we see later down the road. Perhaps giving trash a pass has consequences that grow.
Maybe Lax parenting during the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s has caused the population that would vote for the folks causing real problems now.
Just sayin’.
Perhaps fixing the problems also includes starting to work against those indoctrinating and perverting kids through stupid decisions or intentional design so that we don’t have the same or worse problems down the road.

It’s not like we didn’t have this crap in the 60s and 70s. The first Black Sabbath song had a song that was very explicit about heroin use. Lynyrd Skynyrd talked about drugs all the time. Charlie Daniels used to talk about drugs all the time too before the 80s.

In fact, as I recall, almost all music in the 60s and 70s revolved around sex, alcohol and drugs. This song is really no worse than anything I grew up listening to. I was born in 1962. I remember listening to “White Rabbit” as a child. What was that one about again?

Wiki states: The Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards, also known as the KCA’s, is an annual awards show, that honours the year’s biggest television, movie, and music acts, as voted by the viewers of the Nickelodeon cable channel.

Voted by the viewers ??? The parents and kids ??? Does this represent our future generation ???

View the video, look at all the young kids in the audience, read the lyrics. This is discusting. Never will I click on Nickelodeon. Hollywood is Satan’s tool.

And I think I should point this out. Hank Jr. also talked about drugs and sex all the time too back in the 70s and 80s with cocaine serving as the basis for several songs. And this was country music.

And of course, there was that underground album by DAC that I used to love in college. Anyone who knows what I’m talking about knows what I’m talking about.

She was really good pre-Chris Brown beat up. Since then, she has gone down hill. I think she needs psychological help (and I am not trying to be a jerk, but just think seriously she could use some). What she went through is horrible and she is young and could use some help.

Just to be clear. My kids won’t be watching it - but when you start ignoring this type of thing, what about the kids next door or on the next block that do? My kids have to interact with them on occasion. My kids are being brought up the best I can do it- But what about another kid that thinks, because of something like this, that my 12 year old is a sexual being. I mean... nickelodeon thinks kids are, so they must be right? I don’t see any good fruit from putting this on a kids choice awards show-

yeah all that stuff is fine...i just questioned the judgement about having the subject matter on a show directed at children...

Yep.

I am just saying, the poster pointed out something that a few parents, not me mind you, might not have noticed.

That they are labeling it as a kids show when the content is for late teens.

How about “Sixty-Minute Man” (1951)?

Billy Ward & His Dominoes - “Sixty Minute Man” lyrics

Sixty-minute man, sixty-minute man

Look a here girls I’m telling you now
They call me “Lovin’ Dan”
I rock ‘em, roll ‘em all night long
I’m a sixty-minute man

If you don’t believe I’m all that I say
Come up and take my hand
When I let you go you’ll cry “Oh yes,”
“He’s a sixty-minute man”

There’ll be 15 minutes of kissing
Then you’ll holler “please don’t stop”
There’ll be 15 minutes of teasing
And 15 minutes of squeezing
And 15 minutes of blowing my top

If your man ain’t treating you right
Come up and see ol’ Dan
I rock ‘em, roll ‘em all night long
I’m a sixty-minute man

Sixty-minute man
They call me Lovin’ Dan
I rock ‘em, roll ‘em all night long
I’m a sixty-minute man

Sixty-minute man
They call me Lovin’ Dan
I rock ‘em, roll ‘em all night long
I’m a sixty-minute man

There’ll be 15 minutes of kissing
Then you’ll holler “please don’t stop”
There’ll be 15 minutes of teasing
And 15 minutes of squeezing
And 15 minutes of blowing my top

If your man ain’t treating you right
Come up and see ol’ Dan
I rock ‘em, roll ‘em all night long
I’m a sixty-minute man, oh yeah
SIXTY-MINUTE MAN
