The angry faces at Tea Party rallies are eerily familiar. They resemble faces of protesters lining the street at the University of Alabama in 1956 as Autherine Lucy, the school's first black student, bravely tried to walk to class.
Those same jeering faces could be seen gathered around the Arkansas National Guard troopers who blocked nine black children from entering Little Rock's Central High School in 1957.
"They moved closer and closer," recalled Elizabeth Eckford, one of the Little Rock Nine. "Somebody started yelling, 'Lynch her! Lynch her!' I tried to see a friendly face somewhere in the crowd -- someone who maybe could help. I looked into the face of an old woman and it seemed a kind face, but when I looked at her again, she spat on me."
Those were the faces I saw at a David Duke rally in Metairie, La., in 1991: sullen with resentment, wallowing in victimhood, then exploding with yells of excitement as the ex-Klansman and Republican gubernatorial candidate spewed vitriolic white-power rhetoric.
People like that old woman in Little Rock, the Alabama mob that hounded Autherine Lucy, the embracers of Duke's demagoguery in Louisiana, never go away.
They were spotted last weekend on Capitol Hill under the Tea Party banner protesting the health-care-reform bill. Some carried a signs that read "If Brown [Scott Brown (R-Mass.)] can't stop it, a Browning [high power weapon] can." Some shouted racial and homophobic epithets at members of Congress. Others assumed the role of rabble, responding to the calls of instigating Republican representatives gathered on a Capitol balcony. [emphasis mine]

Pretty soon they will be saying “Granny’s gotta a Gun” sad to say but true.
Bosh and loon!
Where's the beep!
How come there's no state controlled media (SCM, pron'd: SCAM) recordings of "Ni(beep) Fa(beep)"?
Only an extreme minority of so-called “conservatives” are white supremacists but the left can’t wait to make them representative. The left despises us because we support individual rights and liberty. They want collective rights and free money.
Barf alert ?
I think the author is confused. The twisted, angry faces he saw were the demonstrators at the Ann Coulter speech . . .
Nothing like a little race baiting in the morning to get the blood flowing. I never knew I was David Duke and George Wallace re-incarnated? Can somebody tell me where I left my white robe? With all the racism last weekend in Washington DC, I am surprised people aren’t lining up to collect the $10,000 reward for documentary evidence of that fact.
What piece of trash this is.
Most of us understand what an op-ed piece is. MSNBC, for instance is a verbal op-ed. The point is the people that are his readers will take his crap as fact.
Just think how surprised they'd be to learn that Mr. Browning was a Mormon - just like Harry Reid.
It's a shame that resources were needlessly wasted to pump this sewage out into a public forum.
Coming from from professional victims, like most blacks, that is an amazing statement.
I found this fiction on the internet. This might be the next act.
INTERIOR UNDERGROUND DC PARKING GARAGE. BOTTOM LEVEL. NIGHT.
Libras footsteps echo off the walls. The buzz of a flickering neon light is heard. In the corner of the garage a whole sector of lights has gone dark. Shadows thicken. A lighter flickers in the darkness as a cigar is lit.
LIBRA: Carthago. Countersign?
CENTURION: Delenda est. Sort of overly dramatic dont you think?
LIBRA: Not paid to think. What is the assignment?
CENTURION: The Wing thinks its time to lay a little blue smoke between the mirrors. Take the heat off our team and torch the other side. Thats your job.
LIBRA: Fine. How wet does the Wing want it to get?
CENTURION: We project that if three team members are sent down it should put a stop to any attrition in November.
LIBRA: Wouldnt taking out just one serve the same purpose?
CENTURION: No. It has to look like a pattern.
LIBRA: Fine. Any particular team members you need erased?
CENTURION: Nobody from Chicago or San Francisco. And from safe seats only. We need to preserve the count. Renegades very keen on that.
LIBRA: Level of obfuscation?
CENTURION: None. Public and messy. Accidents would be counter productive. But no families. Renaissance would be upset.
LIBRA: Timing?
CENTURION: Within the next 10 days. It would be best if all three were within the same day.
LIBRA: You want target clearance and notification?
CENTURION: No. This will be the last contact for this contract.
LIBRA: Half to the Bahamas account by noon tomorrow and the half on completion to our friend in Costa Rica.
CENTURION: Done.
LIBRA: Anything else?
CENTURION: No. If we need you again we can always find you.
LIBRA: Thats what you people always think. Oh, by the way, was that stuff about you being naked in the showers the real deal?
CENTURION: Just get it done.
FADE TO BLACK
Like I said, consider the source
Just sayin'
That’s funny. In those same Tea Party faces, I see a boundless LOVE OF COUNTRY and bitter anger against those who are trying to destroy it. I see great commitment to the ideals of true freedom, and contempt for those who threaten that freedom. I see the sacrifices they have made to be there, their unwillingness to allow others to render vain their sacrifice to build lives for themselves and their heirs, some of whom risked their lives for that ideal, and an intense resolve to protect the fruits of their sacrifice from those who want to steal it. I see the faces of patriots. I see good people trying to protect good things.
The KKK was the enforcement arm of the southern democrat party.
This article is being used to fire up the riots this summer.
First, and most obvious, is to discredit the Tea Parties.
Second, it is to scare the Republicans away from embracing the Tea Parties.
If the left can drive a wedge between the Republicans and the Tea Party people, they will split the right.
And the Repubs are just stupid and weak-kneed enough to fall for this kind of nonsense.
"Did you see what the NYT said about the Tea parties? Why, we can't be seen with that bunch of crazies."
You guys just passed the American Left’s “Dream” legislation of the past 50-100 years, and you don't want talk about it's virtues?? Instead you spew this racist BS to hide the fact that this law is crap.
You know a bad law was forced on the American People, and I guess if I supported it; I'd want to change the subject too.
