Venus Williams Debuts New 'Can-Can' Corset Dress In Miami [Pic in URL]
Chris Chase
Venus Williams took it back to the '90s with the outfit she wore Thursday night at a match in Key Biscayne. The 1890s, that is.
In her opening match at the Sony Ericsson Open, Venus wore a red, spaghetti-strapped corset trimmed with a flounce. It was part can-can, part Valentine's Day. And though it certainly flouts the conventions of tennis fashion, the dress worked: Venus won the match 6-4, 6-3.
Nobody seemed to care too much about that though. The first eight questions at the post-match press conference were about the dress. "The motif is really about sporty sexy, and kind of that whole attitude of bringing that to my game," she said. "I usually don't wear red. This is kind of new for me."

Still looks like a man.
Looks like a linebacker. Definite NFL potential...
Roid rage red. My favorite color.
Tranny. and an ugly one at that.
Boy I am I feeling old. I can remember when white was the ONLY color allowed on the courts.
I think both of the Williams "girls" look "steriod-upped."
She’s no Venus.
Looks like something you’d find on the close out rack at Victoria’s Secret.
Both Williams sisters have been fashion icons in their own minds for years on the tour - the most stupid, butt-ugly designs ever. The logo shows this one is Venus’s own company (called “Eleven”, because “it’s better than 10.”)
Barf alert.
lol i knew that was going to be pitiful when i clicked on it... darn why did i do that..
Well, I could have gone for years without having seen that....
Hahaahah
Brilliant
It’s like looking at a fat lady on a unicycle. It’s just too darned strange NOT to look.
Men are from Mars, and so is Venus!
Well put.
“The logo shows this one is Venuss own company (called Eleven, because its better than 10.)”
I suggest that the “Eleven” comes from 7-11, where she gets her ‘fashion inspirations’.
