I kow it sounds strange, but Please, Please, Please, do not encourage ANYONE to go against Congresswoman Corrine Brown.
This is Practical Politics 101:
No Republican has ever defeated a Black Dem in a Minority-Majority district such as Browns FL-3. In fact, since these M-M districts were formed, no one, anywhere, nationwide, has even beaten a Black Dem.
The districts were designed to be permanently Black. Brown's FL-3 starts in the Black section of Palatka, runs up a sliver of land to the Black section of Jacksonville, then down to the Black sections of Deland and Orange City, down to the Black sections of Eatonville and Orlando.
She cannot be defeated. It cannot be done. Even with J.C. Watts' help, two candidates could not do it in FL-3.
Her electorate knows she is a total scam, but she is putting one over on The Man. They love her for that, beyond any other consideration. The more criminal, the more liberal she became, the more votes she would get.
Look at Alcee Hastings. A black convicted, impeached, bribe-taking federal judge. He wins his congressional seat from South Florida in a landslide every cycle!
So, Corrine will win. But if we dont run anyone against her, she runs a very low-key campaign, there is no media interest in her distict and 20,000 voters Black Dem will stay home on election day! Thats 20,000 fewer Dem votes for the Dem governor candidate, the Dem senate candidate, etc.
The smart move is to NOT run anyone against her. We cannot win the seat, and ANY opponent only adds 20,000 Dem voters to the statewide races on election day.
You're absolutely right, anything you can do to divert the enemy troops from the main battle helps. Planning your strategy to take away an enemy incentive is every bit as as good as winning a skirmish that then shapes the larger battle. The Federal government created that district expressly to always elect a black representative and the ammunition used fighting a rigged battle is wasted. The original post is an excellent idea and it applies to all the districts that were deliberately created to make sure a republican or even a democrat who is not black win in them.
It's not racist to admit that you opponent is racist and it's a lie to say that black folks haven't been granted the right to be racist to the core while slinging slanders at others over imagined slights. It's sad but true, the black community handed all it gained from the Civil Rights movement over to a bunch of whores who put feathering their own nests above their own people.
Regards
Do you have anything more detailed than the black section? I understand Democrats wanting to label in colors; that doesnt mean you do as well.
How about “most crime-ridden area?” Or, “Least Diverse Area?” Am I getting warm? Shun political correctness. It’s going to get us all killed.
How about “areas that include Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd.”?
What about Joseph Cao from Louisiana taking over Fridge Jefferson's district?
wrong headed thinking more competition would be better. The GOP could sit it out if they want but she needs a primary opponent to the left of her if that is possible and a general opponent from say constitution party, libertarian party all opponents should be selected to be properly complected for the district believe me you could find the candidates there are still small business people out here of every complexion that do not like the dictates from DC.
Facts which are inconvenient may be denied in a really heartfelt rant.
The district was created by delineating between black and white neighborhoods. The “black sections” were joined together to create the black district.
The poster’s description is correct. If it offends your politically correct sensibilities, then get over it. I see no overt or covert racism in his description.
I like it! Is that wrong?
What you said. After the tea partiers were smeared this weekend, it is time to find a way to keep making this point. The race card is more and more worn out--witness the desperate Lamestream media repeating the story without any accompanying video and audio.
That's why I was excited to read about a rumored Big Tolerance website run by Breitbart. Have you heard much about the gangs of black teenagers and children in Philadelphia targeting old, white people? No? They gather together for the beatings by TWITTER.
Actually I was wrong. There are SEVEN Republicans running: “ http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2476189/posts Dean Black announces challenge to Corrine Brown (FL 3rd district)
“Running” is one thing. Are the officially filed, with a viable fundraising operation?
Makes sense to me. Here in Georgia, we were better off having Cynthia McKinney in office than the current Representative. McKinney was a national embarrassment to the Democrats. However, now she has been replaced by someone who votes exactly the same as her, but doesn’t supply the negatives to the Democrats that McKinney (and her racist father) did.
Beats me. I think that there is a state GOP site listing this sort of info. The guy in the story, Black, is white.
Obama took 73% in the district. Kerry 65%, Gore 64%. It is more than 61% minority voters. She cannot be defeated in her district.
With no viable opponent, many of her voters stay home.
If we run a viable opponent against her, it only awakens the sleeping tiger and helps the statewide Dems. Why do you want to do that?
Well, the thing is, the GOP majority can draw the lines, they just don’t have final say. Fact is, the Democrats tend to have a much freer hand in drawing incumbent protection districts, since nearly all of these non-White districts are Democrat. I loathe these mandated districts, because I reside in a non-federal State Senate district drawn to elect a Black member, and as a non-Black, I have no representation because the Justice Dept. says, “If you’re not (fill-in-the-blank-non-White), you don’t count.” Where are my “voting/civil rights” ?
