Franny & Zooey - pic#1 above - were a couple of Wal-Mart “junk” fish that thrived and survived for years in a small tank ( including a 4 day power outage in the middle of winter) but finally succumed to a bad case of ick.

Oh, goldfish can survive in a septic tank if need be. (Think, 'garbage in, garbage out'. LOL) But ick is their Public Enemy #1 because of it. And when they croak, they start to decompose and will cloud up the water in a matter of a couple of hours. The damn things can't even die neatly. Like I said, nasty little buggers.
