This is a pastor who is very insightful when discussing current events. He doesn't pull any punches and this particular article clearly states the mindset we are up against when trying to resist socialism. I've heard him preach before...you may need to prepare to be offended ;).

I am afraid you are correct.

“And eventually, the furor will die down and the town hall meetings a generation from now will treat socialistic government healthcare the same way we treat socialistic programs like Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, and government education today.”

He makes some very good points. People get upset when we hear healthcare is a right, yet we have established all kinds of government programs as rights all along. I’m against goverment run healthcare, but I’m not surprised government run healthcare would be sold as a right in this debate. Look at our schools, unemployment benefits, social securty, medicare, freedom from being around smokers, etc, etc. This isn’t a strong arguement to use against government run healthcare in my opinion.

Yes, seems like all it takes is time and the debate is over.

I still think there are great ways to argue against our inept government running healthcare,(mostly based on cost and efficiency), but I think it is a waste of time trying to argue that healthcare shouldn’t be considered a right when schools, medicare, unemployment benefits, and social security are all considered to be rights to most people in our country at this time. That view just won’t stand up to
deal with this issue.

I posted this myself when it came out.

Voddie has a good grasp of culture, history, and the human psyche filtered through sound Biblical doctrine and a healthy Biblical worldview.

“Our school has Christian Teachers” and Shortt’s “The Continuing Collapse” are insightful as well.

I’ve met him once at a homeschool convention and asked for some counsel through email (which he took the time to reply) and he is the real deal. Lives the hard walk he preaches.

We heard him speak at a family apologetics conference 2 years ago and sat next to his family during another speaker's presentation. My husband was a 3-time All-American heavyweight wrestler in college...not many men make him feel small. Voddie Baucham did ;).

He certainly is the real deal. Sometimes I cringe and say “ouch” while listening to an on-line sermon, but won't stop listening for anything!
