Well, I’m pretty well ‘stuck here’. How high is property tax on ‘farmland’?

Taxes aren’t too bad. Most counties provide a break on farm land.
However, the price of farm ground has skyrocketed.

Be careful buying land, the states are hurting for taxes in this Marxist economy.

I own a few acres in Illinois...old family farm acres...and the taxes just went up last year. I started paying in the 30 dollar range for these few acres years ago and in 2008 the taxes went to $48 for the year..reasonable, I thought.....last year they went up to 400 dollar range for the year. Quite a jump...huh?...I may have to sell the acres now....the taxes are just too much to hold on to Gr.Gr.Grandfather’s farm for sentimental reasons.

The $400 may not sound like much to most folks, but it is to someone on a tight budget.
