Clear Channel has announced the host of the morning show on Rush Radio 1200 to be Jeff Katz. It seems like CC actually put some thought into this one. He has been on the air in Boston before on WRKO and he has had many other major market gigs (KNEW in San Francisco and WPHT in Philadelphia) and has most recently been on WFTL in Ft. Lauderdale and, before that, WBT.

Jeff Katz to host morning show on new conservative talker

Former WRKO-AM (680) radio host Jeff Katz has been tapped to host the morning-drive show on Boston’s new conservative talk radio station, WXKS-AM (1200).

BOSTON, MA – March 23, 2010 – Boston’s new conservative talk radio station, “Rush Radio 1200” WXKS-AM has announced the addition of a new local morning show.

Jeff Katz will begin hosting the weekday morning show, 5am to 9am, on Monday, April 5th. Katz has extensive experience as a talk show host in Boston. He has most recently been a consistent fill-in host for WRKO’s Howie Carr, while hosting afternoon on WFTL-AM in West Palm Beach, Florida. Jeff Katz also hosted the WRKO morning show for several years in the late 1990’s. Katz has hosted award winning talk shows at radio stations in Philadelphia, San Francisco, and Las Vegas.

Jeff has made countless television appearances on such programs as The O’Reilly Factor, Hardball, Showbiz Tonight, Daily Buzz and American Morning. Over the years he has guest hosted on many national radio shows including Glenn Beck, Jim Bohannon, Bob Grant, Rusty Humphries and Mike McConnell among others. Jeff Katz has also filled in on many of America’s best radio stations including KFI (Los Angeles), WIOD (Miami) and KLIF (Dallas).

He was fired in Charlotte for being to controversal. He does a great job of researching subjects and presenting issues, but he treats callers rudely and alienates many long-time listeners.

I am sure it is the same Jeff. Kind of high pitched voice, heard subbing for Howie Carr in Boston last year. In the 80’s he was on WCCC and hammered the Libs in CT. WCCC caved.

Yep, the guy should live in an RV since he gets fired and moves around so much. What he says is got conservative stuff, but how he says it is what gets him in trouble. lol

He wears on people rather quickly. I think he lasted a little over a year in Charlotte.

Well near the end he seemed to be very short and combative with his callers. He did do a great job of researching his subjects and presenting the material though.
