Rush Limbaugh might have sounded [to some] as though he was in panic mode yesterday. He's not. Rush is bracing us for an important danger. FRiends, this is not the end of peaceful solutions. Seriously. If a few wackos run out and get themselves locked up or worse, they will find themselves alone. Why? There’s too much common sense out there.
Three things, and only three things, should trigger panic between from now to November:
1. If a midnight voter block suddenly pops up. If Team 0bama rushes a midnight illegals-to-vote bill that could virtually erase conservative votes in 2010 or 2012, yes, that would be a reason to panic. But it hasn't happened yet. We have eyes all over D.C. There is hope that a trumpet just might sound in time for us to crush such a plan.
2. If the election results are utterly fishy that is time to panic. We will likely have more accurate polling funded by conservatives than ever before. We will know if something fishy happens on Super Tuesday. If the election was clearly hijacked, and I mean CLEARLY, then everyone will indeed have every right to panic.
3. If crossover votes are still allowed on 1012 and we get another RINO candidate, yes -- that is a reason to panic.
Obama is not going to stage a coup. He doesn’t have military backing. The police are like everyone else. ACORN went bankrupt. They folded. [Link coming.] And today's leftists don't have what it takes to violently thwart our electorial process. They are wimpy girly-men who hate guns. Make our day. I would sit out on the front porch for the first time in my life with a bowl of popcorn.
This is a danger I am more concerned about -- pro-establishment republican bluebloods. They need to realize that anti-establishment conservatives are their natural allies. Mistrust of government is the key to restoring limited government. Anyone who makes fun of anti-establishment conservatives without narrowing attacks on the worst-of-the-worst is aiding and abetting the enemies of freedom.
As for healthcare, unless 1, 2, or 3 occurs, it could well have a stake driven in its heart by January of 2013 when our new president signs her first bill. Entitlements are normally impossible to end. But the "goodies" won't be available for four years. "It's dead, Jim."

By panic, I’m mean giving up on any political hope.

I understand your concern, but that is not going to solve anything. We have the tools to solve this problem by 2013. The healthcare industry will be in a shambles and people will die, but in the long run I beleive it will be better off from future deregulations.
Unless we suffer from 1,2, or 3 — we will win.
FYI, Mark Levin (nearly as good or better than Rush on many things, IMO) has his show on iTunes daily for download for free.

This is were your argument falls apart...
Its not just the "intelligencia" thats been indoctrinated by wacko professors. Everyone, from the day they enter kindergarten till the day they graduate high school and then college undergo an intense indoctrination. But it doesn't end there... The media at large continues that indoctrination in almost every movie, TV show, album, book, etc...
It may not be the "fault" of the fools but it really doesn't matter. The reason for their insanity is not our concern, what IS our concern is that they have achieved critical mass. This isn't going to change and it isn't going to get better in any way thats meaningful. Why? because the indoctrination of kids and adults continues unabated.
As it stands there is no chance for turning this around permanently. Sure we can slow it down and even get small reverses but it wont matter in the long run because we are not changing the fundamental problem. A significant number of people are convinced that socialism is perfectly ok, even if they don't call it socialism.
Secession IS the only potentially peaceful method to remove that influence and it IS the only hope we have to reignite freedom for ourselves and our posterity. Perhaps some day we can even bring in some of the old states when their people experience the ultimate destination of forced collectivism...
There were plenty of neo-cons at the tea parties. Stop trying to divide the troops.
Rush was on fire this afternoon. He told the GOP how to handle this and he was spot on. If this bill is so great, bring all of it on right now. Why wait for another 46,000 folks to die without health insurance just this year? By 2014 just think how many more will die. We must get the deficit down right now. Why put it off?
We want all the benefits now. In order to save lives.

It’s college that does more harm. Kids grow up and enter the workplace. Then they have a reality check. But too mcuh exposure in college years is much more damaging long term IMHO.

Yet that does not counter the 60/40 edge conservatives traditionally have. Most people believe in the Bill of Rights. For leftists out of college, particulary constitutional law, those are “negative rights”.

I wouldn’t want to jump from the frying pan into the fire myself. It’s ok if a few call BO’s bluff, but not the majority of congress members.
No.. the south has been there and done something entirely different at an entirely different point in time.
That argument is disingenuous and everyone who has heard it a thousand times knows it. Times change, people change, and the justifications change. What happened then will not happen now in the same manner. If we secede we will do so successfully or we will bring this entire tyrannical union down in the attempt, obviously one outcome is preferred over the other but both are acceptable and I would rather bring this nation to its knees than allow it to become a force for evil on this planet. Make no mistake, that is EXACTLY what this nation is becoming and you simply have to look at its foreign policy "missteps" as proof.
I can give you a hundred reasons why secession would be to our advantage and in fact is our only out, you can give me only one reason why not... "The south tried that before...". Well, sir... its been "tried" many times throughout human history , some successful (like the American Revolution) and others not so successfully. We will not know until we dare to try.
...and we WILL try before its all said and done, we wont have a choice.

I’m talking about “herd mentality”. It might sound disingenuous, but seccession WOULD potentially bring the military on board with Obama. I see wasted energy in such a move.
Secondly, I don’t want to see Obama Balkanize our great nation. United we stand, divided we fall. Just look at Yugoslavia, a disaster. The history of Europe — bloody. US states are bitter rivals for the most part. They take each other to court all the time. Imagine the tensions over water rights alone!
