I don't understand. Are the 2012 GOP Presidential Primaries being held this year?
In one interview he claimed that Jesus would return to the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem, the same as the other Christian tradition. This got him into trouble with some of his brethren in the Church of the LatterDay Saints, whose official position is that the Saviour will rule from twin capitals of the new Jerusalem in Missouri and the old one in the Middle East

Yes he said it too! I posted the video link on here about fifty times myself. It has since dissapeared go figure...
Absolutely not comparable. Reagan was a deep thinker of principle, Romney is an overambitious flip-flop-flipping embarrassment.
My first choice is DeMint/Ryan 2010.
That’s because that is an accurate and official teaching of the LDS Church, that Christ would return to the Mt. of Olives. The other is an additional appearance, since he is the Creator and Savior of all the earth, not just one location.
Here’s the official teaching.

NIV Rev 18-21
18I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book. 19And if anyone takes words away from this book of prophecy, God will take away from him his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book.
20He who testifies to these things says, “Yes, I am coming soon.”
Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.
21The grace of the Lord Jesus be with God’s people. Amen.
The Bible wasn't even compiled for 2-3 centuries after these books and epistles were written. Revelations wasn't even written last in the canon. If you apply that statement to the entire Bible, it means that we're not allowed to read anything written by James, Paul, or even the other books written by John.
If you go by your interpretation, then you must also throw out the entire bible after Deuteronomy 4:2-3, since the Lord is commanding pretty much the same thing, not to add to or take away from His word.
Most bible scholars will tell you to be careful how you use that reference from Revelations. And I'd not try to push that agenda here, especially here on a political thread.
Against my better judgment, I will offer one bit of scriptural advice, something I read again today at Church that reminded me a lot of the absurd amount of Mormon bashing that goes on here at FR, and why I think it is so misplaced.
1 John 4:1-3
1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:
And you certainly don't need to wonder where we stand on the subject of Christ coming in the flesh. It's central to our teachings.

Make it a great day!
Reagan was a Democrat. Reagan wised up, realized what they stand for and switched parties.
Romney runs on the Democrat platform with an "R" next to his name. That's a huge difference!
You are on a roll tonight. First off, it is spelled Mormons, with an o.
Secondly, it will be Christ who is in charge. As Isaiah put it, the Government will be upon HIS shoulder.
As Mormons further put it...
D&C 133:
20 For behold, he shall stand upon the mount of Olivet, and upon the mighty ocean, even the great deep, and upon the islands of the sea, and upon the land of Zion.
21 And he shall utter his voice out of Zion, and he shall speak from Jerusalem, and his voice shall be heard among all people;
With all due respect I put the mormon religion on the same level as buddism, muhammadism, catholicism, Zoroastrianism, Sikhism,Hinduism,Jainism,Paganism,Sufism,Unitarian Universalism,Confucianism,Mormonism!
All of which Jesus loves each person that practices these equally. If you get my drift...
Matthew 26:34 NAS
Jesus said to him, “Truly I say to you that this very night, before a rooster crows, you will deny Me three times.”
Matthew 26:75 NAS
And Peter remembered the word which Jesus had said, “Before a rooster crows, you will deny Me three times.” And he went out and wept bitterly.
Mark 13:35 NAS
“Therefore, be on the alert -for you do not know when the master of the house is coming, whether in the evening, at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or in the morning -
Mark 14:30 NAS
And Jesus said to him, “Truly I say to you, that this very night, before a rooster crows twice, you yourself will deny Me three times.”
Mark 14:72 NAS
Immediately a rooster crowed a second time. And Peter remembered how Jesus had made the remark to him, “Before a rooster crows twice, you will deny Me three times.” And he began to weep.
Luke 22:61 NAS
The Lord turned and looked at Peter. And Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how He had told him, “Before a rooster crows today, you will deny Me three times.”
Conservatives don't like him, so I'm confident that includes you. Unfortunately, we're learning in recent days that not everyone on FR appears to share that sentiment.
With all due respect, go with God, and make it a great day.
If you truly knew your Bible, you'd know that the last book of Scripture is in fact called "Revelation", as in "The Revelation of St. John The Divine."
Good night.
Yet the troll is still here. What gives? Pimping Harry Reid for Senator and still a member of F.R.
I don't get it.
Tonight’s ObamaCare passage was made possible by Romney.
Romney signed a similar socialized healthcare for MA in 2006.
Further, as one Evangelical Scholar wrote: On what biblical or historical grounds has the inspiration of God been limited to the written documents that the church now calls its Bible? . . . If the Spirit inspired only the written documents of the first century, does that mean that the same Spirit does not speak today in the church about matters that are of significant concern?”

You have a good night too.
If I made a remark like that, anybody could check my posting history of 25,940 replies and safely assume that I was being sarcastic. When you don't have a history, it's far from "obvious".
George W. Bush’s incompetence gave us Obama, who gave us ObamaCare.
who are you, the grand inquistor?
Put your snarky FReepmails out there for everybody to see.
Obamacare is basically Romneycare on a national level. The only major difference is that it is claimed that Obamacare won't include taxpayer-funded abortion, while Romneycare openly funds abortion.
Ask yourself this, if twenty years ago someone had asked you who would be governor in the first state to have socialized healthcare AND homosexual marriage would your answer have been that the governor was a Democrat or Republican?
