Unless a student lands a job at the Idaho National Labs, there are few employers who pay enough to keep local college grads in town. They graduate and leave for greener pastures. Just having a university in town (Idaho State University) isn't enough. AMI Semiconductor was acquired by ON Semi a couple years ago. They eliminated at the technical positions other than those required to run the fab facilities.

We have lots and lots of onferences for all kinds of things here. People don’t know that Colorado is a high tech State with more tech than most States with 1/3 of our economy being Aerospace and Defense and about 1/5 being telecom.
