William Federer does us all a wonderful service every day with his "American Minute".
Hope you all will enjoy and PING SOME OTHERS to this thread so others can find out about it and learn along with us these fascinating tidbits from America's Faith History!
Pinging you to today’s American Minute - this one about John Chapman - otherwise known as Johnny Appleseed.
I did not know he ran 30 miles to warn settlers of an impending Indian attack during the war of 1812! Nor did I know that his father was an American Minuteman during the Revolution!
Enjoy - ping others please - and let me know if you know of anyone who might want to be added to this ping list (or let me know if you want to be removed from it).
God bless and keep you and all our beloveds today!
She has learned the Johnny Appleseed song..(she's 5)...it's her favorite :))
"The Lord is good to me
..and so I thank the Lord
..for giving me, the things I need, the sun and the moon and the apple seed
..the Lord is good to me"...
Simple and direct!
Neat story. It sounded like he was a good man.
I would enjoy being on your ping list.
Having grown up in central Ohio, I knew about Johnny Appleseed. We would always look at old apple trees and wonder if they were planted by him.
I didn’t know about him running 30 miles though.
Contrary to liberal propaganda, most Christians (including myself!) are Good Stewards of The Earth (God’s Creation).
This includes wise management of resources, kindness to Animals(Proverbs 12:7), Intelligent Farming methods, Eliminating waste properly (Read the entire Torah!) and planting new trees whenever one is cut down.
The foolishness comes when people worship the CREATION rather than the CREATOR.
It is not necessary to dance naked around the maypole and worship gaia to be a responsible steward of the earth. LOL.
Thanks FWI.
