Wal-Mart Stores Inc. officials are reviewing security tapes to find out who used a southern New Jersey store's public-address system to tell "all black people" to leave.
Shortly before 7 p.m. Sunday at the Washington Township store, a male voice calmly announced: "Attention Wal-Mart customers: All black people leave the store now."
Witnesses say customers and store employees looked stunned. Management later apologized.
Company spokeswoman Ashley Hardie says the incident was "unacceptable." The retailer is looking to prevent it from happening in the future.
Washington Township police and the Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office also are investigating.

That is hilarious. I wonder if it was Chris Rock?
Is it really a crime to make a joke announcement on a store intercom?
My guess is some joker picked up one of the store phones and made the announcement.
Asking black people to leave a store is racist? Maybe it was a black who was going to blow up the store, and wanted his brothers out first?
If they wanted to really clear the store, they should have made the announcement in Spanish.
Actually, that’s probably why the police are investigating, there’s probably a law that says all announcements must be given in both english and spanish.
It was probably done by the store’s security chief trying to cut down on “shrinkage.”
Hackensack hasn’t got a university, and neither it nor Fairleigh Dickinson are anywhere near Gloucester County.
shut it down.
Roads work.
I think this is hilarious!
Not the black ppl part but just the idea that someone would hijack a PB system. I can only imagine the looks on ppls faces.
:p
I believe this was probably a harmless prank. Lets be honest, nobody who truly hates black people shops at Walmart.
Probably a DARE !
You’re suggesting that students at a university that doesn’t exist would drive over 100 miles (one way) to make a prank announcement on a Wal-Mart public address system.
Yep.
Rowan.
I got that Wal-Mart’s address, called up a map, and lo and behold SEVERAL colleges and universities appeared on the screen showing it is within reasonable driving distance from them.
Sister-in-law works at the local Wally World here in Muddysippi. She said they had not heard about any of this yet but was sure that there would be some new rules coming down from corporate pretty quickly.
How ‘bout U. Cantadmityouwerewrong? See if you could find that one.
I bet that store manager’s backside is still clenched so tight that if he passed gas the dogs a mile a way would be howling at the high pitched whistle.
Are you on a bicycle or something?
I wonder if its not some body tapping into walmarts intercom freq
years back ago they caught some fool with a radio near Mc Donalds
after scores of complaints about insulting comments to the customers
