I am not one of those who are emotionally invested in browsers or OSs. They all have their strenghts and weeknesses.
IE8 is a perfectly fine browser, and is much better than all the other previous Microsoft browsers, e.g., IE7 or IE6.
Firefox takes a long time to load, and the user must turn off (if they can) lots of nag screens such as upgrading plug-ins and such before it loads.
Chrome is made by Google. Google and their Chinese masters want all the info from you that they can get. Running one of their browsers will help them get this.

I used Google Chrome for awhile but it started blocking FR as a hate site!
Chrome is gone, back to Firefox.

Chokes up on IE or Firefox. Runs Opera just fine.

It’s great. One of my favorite things is Flash Blocker and Ad Blocker. There are many great add-ons that are easy to install.
I mean why would anyone want to keep the same computer,TV,radio, job,spouse,friends,car,house,clothes,form of government,religion, or hair color they had last year?It is just soooo lame....
IE 8 is better than nothing, but it still does not comply to the new web standards. It's still a piece of crap.
Unfortunately I have IE 8 and also Yahoo mail. Sometimes it switches from the message I am viewing to another site—Dell. It’s quite annoying-—sometimes I use Firefox Mozilla but the yahoo pages default smaller unless I manually enlarge them. Oh well....not earth shattering!
Yeppers that is ancient. What OS are you running?
1) Install another browser type
2) Upgrade your IE browser
Personally, if I were you, I would upgrade to IE8 since you don't seem to be the type to get emotionally attached to Firefox, Chrome, Safari or Opera. IE8 gives you browser tabs unlike IE7.
Runs on Windows 2000. To be fair I’ve got a 750 GB external hard drive, but all the programs I run are on the 4 GB drive.
About all I do on it is email and interwebs, though. Bought it for $50 five years ago, so I figure I’m getting my money’s worth out of the deal. :)
Anything else I do on the office laptop.
yeah here’s a kicker. I use Yahoo email all the time w/no prob & FF as a browser.
I have a YouTube/Google account,too. I never use gmail to send mail,tho. Everytime i re-visit my gmail account its filled with garbage from the WH,Axelrod and cronies-either begging for money or begging for votes or telling me what’s the latest @the WH- go figure! This stuff NEVER comes to my Yahoo acct
Different experience here. My gmail accounts accumulate hundreds of spam messages a day (in the spam folder); very, very rarely does one make it into the inbox. Of course, Google probably considers anything from Obama to be Golden.
I have IE6 and have had no problems today with checking my Yahoo mailbox. In fact I opened another window and it came right up.
