They say the bill hasn’t been written so they don’t know how they will vote. They have to see it in its final form before making a decision. I said it was the Senate bill and they said something about nuances of putting this together and not necessarily the same as Senate bill, blah, blah, blah.
Actually, that is a fair answer. Appropriate follow up questions are, "Does (fill in name) deem that the bill does not have to be passed?" "Does (fill in the name) believe that reconciliation is appropriate for this legislation?" There are dozens more that can be asked.
