Given lack of vision maybe ditching off shore in shallow water would have been the better choice.
Although this guy can be excused for not expecting a plane to land on him.
Time to put horns on airplanes.
“this guy can be excused for not expecting a plane to land on him.”
Always expect the unexpected, especially when you least expect it.
Yes, sad to say, but I am convinced it was “his time”.
Freak accident for sure but I've always been against using headphones while jogging, biking or in-line skating.......
I may have avoided being mugged one night when I used to run. I was at an intersection with a red traffic light when I heard two questionable individuals walking up behind me. When I turned to look, they had just come up on each side of me. I then took off at a sprint thru the traffic that was driving thru and didn't slow down for two blocks.........
“Always expect the unexpected, especially when you least expect it.”
Quote of a Lifetime! Heed this well and live longer.
This story will turn up on Spike TV’s “1,000 Ways to Die.”
Better to ditch in water deep enough that the insurance company can't fish the plane out, rinse it off and give it back to you.
I’ve seen horns on Cadillacs
don’t you hate it when a plane comes up from behind and lands on you?
Poor guy, poor family. We do not not know the day, or the hour.
Ummmm, better NOT to ditch in water of any depth and drown!
There’s no way this pilot could have avoided a jogger while he was gliding down at 150+ MPH.
That’s what I was thinking. Just in case, you know.
Sad.
Not to mention the somersault and breakup when the landing gear hits the water.
Who could have expected you to say that?
Correction: This is a Lancair....about the fastest single engine propeller passenger plane today, cruises at nearly 400 MPH.
The plane must of been doing close to 200 MPH when landing...
What a shame. Jogging ain’t always very healthy...
