I always sort of compartmentalized W.C. Fields and the Crosby/Hope road movies in two different eras. But here we have releases of each two days apart. I guess this is an overlap. But after all, neither are that far removed from vaudeville. Mel Brooks movies would fit right in.

Don't miss the article on Sergeant York (the real one) on image #2. It didn't mention it here, but York's main demand was that Gary Cooper played him.

Although the story says Mr. York was in the best of health at age 58, I suspect there was a reason he appeared “ruddy faced.”
