Its the kind of movie best lists were made for, and over the years its been on plenty of them: Best Movie Quote, Best Song, Best Villain, Most Thrills. It boasts both the most famous car in movie history and what novelist Anthony Horowitz once called perhaps the most bizarre murder in literature. It spawned both 1964s best-selling toy among tots and that years sexiest man alive among adults. It remains the most beloved entry in the single most profitable cinematic series of all time adjusted for inflation, the movie cost only twenty-four-million dollars to make, yet brought in an epochal 853 million at the box office.

Goldfinger is on BBC America tonight.

Best cheesy Bond parody was Neil Connery’s “Operation 00007” also known as “Operation Kid Brother.” Cheap Italian film with a score by Morricone with many 60s-era Bond vets.
Yes. The real reason Goldfinger was an epic - Patricia Galore, forever to be remembered by her nickname, and perhaps second only to Jane Parker in the order of movie babes.
Nice post devolve. Some new pictures from Goldfinger.
This thread’s a year old!! I wondered why I didn’t get a ping, lol.
Some things are too puzzling to figure out. You posted to me last year in post # 57. I commented on how cute the car was. Now the car and the marz stars are missing. The url of the yellow car is still in Domania but the MG folder is empty!! No redX and no transparent inserts........
How did any of it show with img alt= in front of it?? You can’t edit after posting. It’s a mystery.
This is what shows in ‘view source’;

.
I dunno
The Aston Martin / Mustang photo I just posted is recent - not stock stills from the movie - They reshot the GOLDFINGER car chase and other scenes using a mint condition white ‘66 Mustang convertible (no ‘64-1/2 white Mustang convertible was available in Europe) and a mint condition privately owned silverbirch Aston Martin DB5 -
The (now 67-year old) actress Tania Mallet that played Tilly Masterson in GOLDFINGER was thrilled to be asked to recreate those mountain chase scenes and shooting at Auric Goldfinger
There are several more top-quality high-resolution reenactment photographs now that fill in some of the missing still photographs from GOLDFINGER
The giveaway is the license tag on the Aston Martin I posted today and the wider wheels on the white ‘66 Mustang
I may be able to recreate the background images I posted last year - A bit of remote editing magic would be needed
.
I looked through the site you sent me today. I liked the picture of her in front of the car at a gas station but it was taken from afar.
I know when you originally posted the other one it had the really cute yellow car with wood paneling, but it is on ‘alt’ and the other car MG folder is empty. lol ?
No need to recreate. I could also do it in Tripod to save with other posts.
Found the little gif I wanted and am working on it.
Here’s a bit of stuff that’s quite interesting.

Ian Fleming and Goldfinger

Lol, Hi abb, I’m glad Fleming didn’t carry out his threat to change the name Goldfinger!
Just in case you’ve never heard this instrumental arrangement of Goldfinger. Good stuff!

Great background info on Goldfinger!
“Write whatcha know!”
Ian Fleming was pretty sharp
He had a custom Studillac as was mentioned for Felix Leiter in one of his books (I believe)
In GOLDFINGER Felix drove a big T-Bird
Fleming had a black ‘55 Baby-Baby (as did Marilyn Monroe in NYC) I believe (DISCLAIMER here if I am wrong) - and later a Big-Bird - his wife did not like cramped smaller cars
Jill Masterson is painted gold and suffocates
Tilly Masterson is whacked with Odd-Job’s hat

Creamy Lobster Bisque
NY (brand) Original Texas Toast garlic-butter
Whatta country!
.
In other words, the Masterson’s were massacred - kinda..
Why do James Bond movies always evolve into the discussion of cars? Why aren’t there threads about clothes, the beautiful clothes all those beautiful women wore?
I just don’t understand it...../S
snicker
.
I don’t understand your question potlatch
.
I figured.......the clothes were barely seen, lol.
.
almost-wearing clothes
.
Bond Girls look good no matter what they’re wearing - or not wearing...
