Breaking Into Comics The Marvel Way #1 ...is marked T+, which according to Marvels guidelines means that it is "Appropriate for most readers 13 and up, parents are advised that they might want to read before or with younger children."
So you wont expect too much bad language, nudity of sexual content [but] in one story...

You haven’t been to Disneyworld on the wrong day with your kids,I take it.
“Thankfully Ive got tons of old stuff from the 60s, 70s & 80s where adult themes and concepts could be explored while simultaneously providing decent entertainment for youngsters. Talented people can pull that off. Hes not one of them.”
I agree. As an old school collector, I have little time or find little value in any comic newer than 1979. Good story writers in the older comics were able to portray the characters, good or bad, in tasteful representations without using vile or explicit descriptions.
That is why the older comics from the bronze, silver, and golden ages are more valuable and a great collectible.
I have hundreds of titles, which I prize with pride.
Occasionally a newer title has some cover art work that is outstanding. But the story lines, can I say this? suck
Gay Day is not disney-sponsored. I’m not saying that there are not times when large grous of gay people go there, but it is not a disney-sponsored event.
Might I add that if anyone has some older comics they wish to sell, I buy certain titles and will pay a fair price for holes in my collection. freep mail me if you have inquiries. I like older Marvel and DC, and some Charleton and Dell depending on the genre.
I did not say YOU reading comics, unless you are a child.
Second, for children “hot” looking women is not exactly appropriate. My original statements stand unamended.
The “comic” books you are referring to maybe the Archie-type of comics which are still available. If one reads Superman, Batman, the age for reading such comics is up to the parent of the child if it’s acceptable.
Just like Archie becomes tiresome for some..readers will obviously gravitate towards “more mature” comics such as Flash, X-Men, Wolverine etc. That’s life. That’s why DC as an example, has the more mature Vertigo line for another audience who want more edge to their comics.
Regarding how female heroines and villains have looked throughout the years, ever notice how Wonder Woman evolved through the decades? If these heroines looked buxomy, then what is the excuse for tall, handsome superheroes such as Superman, Green lantern, Aquaman etc who have perfect pecs, 6 pack abs etc? Then wouldnt they be “inappopriate’ as well? IMHO
Marvel is kicking off a direction they call The Heroic Age, which is a deliberate move away from the depressing stories they’ve run the last few years. Should be more to your liking.
Kick Ass is actually published under Marvel’s ICON imprint.
I never liked Marvel Comics. I was always a DC Comics fan. “Sgt. Rock’’ and “Our Army at War/ The Haunted Tank’’ were my favorites.
Sure. Books marketed to children should not emphasize sexuality.
That’s nothing. 10 years ago saying “what the fuck” would be considered totally obscene and out of place on a conservative forum.
But today you can find “WTF” all over free republic in the conversations, articles, and even titles
