NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- A set of gold teeth may cost the city of Nashville $95,000. In November, Anthony McCoy was arrested on suspicion of failure to pay child support. During booking, McCoy was ordered to remove the gold "grill" in his mouth.
When McCoy explained that the grill was permanently cemented to his teeth, a sheriff's department lieutenant reached into McCoy's mouth and broke it off, according to Metro Council resolution No. RS2010-1156. The damage to McCoy's teeth is estimated at $10,000.
The city will consider the resolution to settle McCoy's injury claim for $95,000 for the damage to his mouth and because the jail delayed medical attention. The man apparently asked to see a dentist and was given Tylenol until about 10 days after the incident.
Lieutenant Tanya Mayhew was demoted and given a five-day suspension.
Nashville must be one horrible place to live.
That cop should pay for the damages himself. Why should the city pay?
It is too bad people like this draw all of the attention regarding law enforcement. You never hear stories of all of the good they do. This person should have been fired IMO.
I suspect there is much more to this story....
He didn't earn that money lawfully.
Cops like this don’t draw all of the attention regarding aw enforcement.
They only draw the attention of this particular poster. Finding stories of bad cops is ‘his thing.’
It’s really helped the TV detective show, ‘First 48 Hours’.
We lost a cop the other day during a domestic disturbance call. The anarchists didn’t waste any time blaming him. Apparently they think the call should have been ignored and then they could blame police if the perp killed someone else.

How does that relate to this officer’s ripping a man’s teeth out?
Some people just need their teeth torn out
Criminal failure to support children,
with lots of gold in mouth
I'd be tempted myself
Ever hear of Underwriters Laboratory? Or the NTSB that investigates aircraft, train crashes all over the world? You could say that the entire discipline of engineering is concerned with failure. How about Richard Deming and quality control? You think that FedEx doesn’t keep track of every failed delivery?
Failures and their causes are golden. This is the most common route to progress. It seems to me that it is only some bureaucracies that are more interested in new uniform fashions, petty self esteem issues, and organizational charts that are suppressive of illuminating failure incidents.
It seems that this individual has a big problem with law enforcement. The majority of law enforcement officers play by the rules, I would bet the law enforcement community has the same percentage of screw-ups as other employment fields. I bet a cop stole his girlfriend or his doughnut, hence all the manic posting.
Pointless. Why should we pay to have judges, buildings, clerks, cops, jails, cruisers to issue a piece of paper to this guy?
Who is the delusion party here? The guy that know he won’t, and will not pay, or the expensive paper shuffling, tax eating bureaucrats that not one of them thinks the ‘process’ ‘works’( expect for their pay and pensions, upon which rounding up deadbeats for no, zero, zip results? )
Who would do, waste, pay for such and exercises? ( Government )
Who are you calling a moronic anarchist and clown? You have no idea to whom you’re speaking, or how to speak in civilized society. Have a wonderful day.
Probably...
But so is a “Come to Jesus” meeting
in the middle of the night
in an As.H.le who is beating his Wife
Some people just need correcting
Every year more pages of ‘laws’ are enacted. The more laws, the more people get irritated, the more that are irritated the more they bitch, the more a few irritated rise to violence, the more cops get assaulted.
And, it is only going to get worse.
That’s the job.
Just like fishermen in New England who have to go out in storms, because the Fish Police say them must fish on such and such days, or lose the days. So some leave the dock, and hide behind a island, others desperate for boat payments and wanting to keep a crew that need rent payment go out. Nice, eh?
