Please explain the difference between the two instances then. What Edwards did and fisticuffs between two hockey players.

Did I read that correctly. You want to know the difference betwen a hockey fight and someone attacking another driver in a speeding race car?

A hockey fight is unlikely to injure spectators (unless you have the Hanson brothers on the team).

Okay, if I must! There is a major difference between 2 hockey players going at it with hockey sticks in helmet and pads than drivers taking out someone (and intentional at that) with a car travelling at 180 plus mph and fans sitting close enough to get killed by the debris from the hurtling car. Maybe my reasoning isn’t valid to others but it makes a whole lot of sense to me.
