Please explain the difference between the two instances then. What Edwards did and fisticuffs between two hockey players.
Okay, if I must! There is a major difference between 2 hockey players going at it with hockey sticks in helmet and pads than drivers taking out someone (and intentional at that) with a car travelling at 180 plus mph and fans sitting close enough to get killed by the debris from the hurtling car. Maybe my reasoning isn’t valid to others but it makes a whole lot of sense to me.
There are routinely 10-18 car pileups and everyone walks away without a scratch whereas hockey players routinely lose teeth, require stiches, sustain concusions, etc...
But my REAL original point was that there are laws against what Edwards did, and there are laws against what hockey players do. Where do you draw the line? Remember years ago when the hockey player hit the other guy in the head with a stick from behind? The attacker was arrested and charged.
