CHARLOTTE, N.C. NASCAR will not suspend Carl Edwards for intentionally wrecking Brad Keselowski's car during last weekend's race at Atlanta.
There had been a loud cry for NASCAR to punish Edwards for returning to the track Sunday after an earlier wreck with Keselowski and then deliberately causing a crash. The contact sent Keselowski's car flying into the air, and it bounced on its hood off a retaining wall. No one was injured.
A person familiar with NASCAR's discussions said Edwards will not be suspended for his actions.

Nothing wrong with that IMO, I've seen Jeff Gordon, Rusty Wallace and others do it when the race was on the line.
Edwards was over 130 laps down and that is very different.
so are you saying that sr never exacted revenge on the track...??...
I was at Texas Motor Speedway when, in a truck race, a truck got turned in the tri-oval (same area as where Edwards spun the 12), hit the wall..AND WAS KILLED.
You want to retaliate at Bristol, Martinsville, fine. Not at 190 MPH.
The flip on Sunday was more an indictment of NASCAR’s COT design than anything else. That wing must (and will) go. Edwards, Kurt Bush, Logano and a few others have taken that ride already with the POS COT.

NASCAR places Edwards on three-race probation
Now witch is it?
witch
s/b which
Gotta watch them witches........
To my knowledge, I never saw him blatantly take out a lead car when he was completely out of the running.
I bet you’d charge hockey players with assault too?
According to my son, probation is not the same as suspension.
Under probation he can still drive but is under scrutiny for further bad behavior, suspension would not allow him to participate at all.
Okay.... he got a slap on the wrist and must keep his nose clean for three races while he goes round and round.
The CoT sure lifts real nice and pretty when it flies backward
It’s one thing to try and spin out the car ahead of you when you’re racing for the win, it’s another to come back on the track with a wrecked car and take out a top 10 car for revenge. If they had been racing for position, I would be inclined to give Edwards a break, but Keselowski was the 7th place car and Edwards was over 140 LAPS down.
If NASCAR doesn’t suspend Edwards, it’s because they don’t want to suspend a big sponsor like Aflac at a time when they are hurting for sponsorship.
I bet youd charge hockey players with assault too?
and you’d lose!
Exactly.
Please explain the difference between the two instances then. What Edwards did and fisticuffs between two hockey players.
and i ask again, did other drivers like a dale sr never repeat never exact revenge on the track...??...i am not saying what he did was right but i think if you go even way back to the early days drivers would take out others out of revenge....racing can be a dirty sport....even take a look at the fist fights that have happened during and after races in the pits due to what happened on the track...
