EL CAJON, Calif. (AP) -- A California Highway Patrol officer helped slow a runaway Toyota Prius from 94 mph to a safe stop on Monday after the car's accelerator became stuck on a San Diego County freeway, the CHP said.
Prius driver James Sikes called 911 about 1:30 p.m. after accelerating to pass another vehicle on Interstate 8 near La Posta and finding that he could not control his car, the CHP said.

I get this error message almost every time I post, and the second try always works.
I live here in San Diego and have heard more of this on the various local news here. The British Press has coverage of this also.
You can take the facts as they are or not.
Would a car, that the driver said was burning up his brakes, at least have some brake dust on the wheels? Those wheels look awfully clean to me. I can clean my car’s wheels and after a day or 2, the brake dust is back.
94 mph in a Prius?!! Did this guy have a pit crew? ;)
