That’s a pretty long headache.
He wanted sex, she just wanted to neck.
That's a whole lot of speculation you've got there!
You must have missed the part where they had NEVER had sex even though they were married for 21 years.
Despite what you hear on Oprah or The View, not everything is the man's fault.
That said, they both were nut-cases.
I think this is a world record for longest headache.
MS has effects on thinking which are sometimes of psychotic proportions. I have worked intensively with 50-60 year-old (women mostly) MS patients, who have asserted the most incredible nonsense. In some cases the only thing that saved them was the physical disability that prevented them from doing very foolish things.
I guess my point is, who knows, in this case, what to think.
He killed her. Enuf said.
You ain’t going to believe this one ping.
Think I would have just got an annulment a few months into the marriage. Rather than wait 26 years.
Having sex does not mean having children.
She was married for 21 years and never has sexual relationship with her husband!
That's cruel.
"principle" is not the first word to pop in my head.
I was being saecastic and merely forgot the tag. OK. I am sorry if I caused you pain. LOL
Don’t blame her, she had a headache!
According to this theory, not just her husband "made her feel this way" but also every other man she ever encountered - because none met her standards. Those must have been very high standards.
or perhaps he was an abusive monster
I wonder if her refusal to do her wifely duties had anything to do with him going crazy after a short period of time (just 21 years.)
He could have had children and so could she, but she was the wise one in this relationship... her husband was a murderer.
It's a great example of circular cause and consequence fallacy.
Moral of the story: Don’t ever marry a Cousin!
You never know, sometimes.
I'm sure there are some posters who actually think denying your husband sex is a "principles act"
That’s the truth ! Something just ain’t normal there.
Birthcontrol options would have settled the sex issue....and he could have been a happy man. They could have adopted children...so many options.
My take..she didn’t want to have sex or children and that would certainly be cause to pack up and leave. He didn’t.
So you have two people who are hooked on each other...tightly. Every thing else is secondary.
No excuse for mudering her....they were other options for them both. BTW who says he wasn’t getting sex...usually woman like that tell their mates to go ahead with someone else. He did I think.
There's no argument against that. We know he killed her. Despite his claims, it's his own fault that he killed her. That's clearly stated in the article.
I referred to your speculation - From a female perspective...this guy must have made her feel like if she did have sex with him, she was a slut... or perhaps he was an abusive monster. Either way..
You see, you decided without any actual evidence that the man must have made her to feel a certain way. To use your own analogy, you are the "Obama and the Dims blaming Bush."
My speculation is that they were two freaks who found each other. If it was a simple case of her feelings, and incidentally people are responsible for their own feelings, they would have likely have had sex at least once or twice in their 21 years of marriage.
Perhaps he should have taken the advice of several other FReepers and had the marriage annulled. Then he could have traded her in for two twenty-year-olds. Like I said, they were a pair of freaks. We should thank them for finding each other so they limited the trouble they caused the rest of society.
Now run along and write to Dear Abby that I'm hurting your iddy biddy feelings and being a big meanie.
Ping to my response to nagdt.
You can say that again ...
He could have gotten an annulment, not just a divorce. Not making clear that you do not intend to have children or intercourse is a defective intention often in civil law as well as ecclesiastical law.
