The first advert promoting Apples iPad device went live last night during the Oscars.
The 30-second advert takes the viewer on a whirlwind tour of all of the functions the hotly anticipated tablet style computer is capable of, to a soundtrack of The Blue Vans 'There Goes My Love.
The surprise spot advert launched after the news emerged last week that the iPad will go on sale in the US on April 3 and follow suit around the world on an unconfirmed date in late April. British consumers will be able to buy both the Wi-Fi only and Wi-Fi and 3G versions of the device in late April, Apple confirmed. The launch date is slightly later than anticipated, but analysts have been warning that unspecified "manufacturing problems" could lead to some delays.

Apple iPad.
Those three pictures are not of the same thing. I suspect the top one is correct.
The top one looks more of an oversized iPhone.
This is just about what they claim it is. Nothing else more.
And that’s good, I say. I would rather have the zillions of iphones apps at my hands from the day I buy it, than the handful of expensive apps offered for a full Mac.
As far as which is which, I understand from those in my industry that it’s 7x8, offering a size not much larger than a 5x7 photograph. This scares me, until I realise that iphone apps, and those written in their style, are truly full-screen apps with a nice button size and use of limited i-phone screen real estate.
I remain excited.
Still - Boooo! No camera, no usb, no internet tethering support with your iPhone, doesn’t run OS X, should I continue?
