Your laptop monitor is working?

Has the attached monitor ever worked with this setup?

Make sure the external monitor cable is plugged into the VGA port on the laptop, of course.

For WinXP, right click on the main screen (laptop).

You should see a little box menu that allows you to select ‘screen’ options.

Selection the one for Graphic display.

That should open an attached sub menu.

Select Output to... [sub menu]
Select Dual Display Clone [sub menu] [or similar wording]
Select Notebook + Monitor [do not select Monitor]

Oh Eureka!!!!

Your answer did the trick!

I did a right click on the laptop screen and then it came up graphics options and “monitor” was one of the options and I clicked it and VOILA!!! I am on the big screen again!!!

Woohoo!!!
