That segment on the Simpsons was actually based on a period when Tom & Jerry cartoons were produced behind the iron curtain (in Czechoslovakia I think). These weren’t commie knock-offs though, they were the actual Tom & Jerry cartoons for the US audience, only they moved production to a Communist country.

After all, the very first time he played golf, he got 18 consecutive holes-in-one.
