The Black-Sholes formula for making those investment packs of sub primes (like Goldman-Sachs used) won a Nobel Prize, and believe me they were not conservative types. I believe one of them had already died, and other one joined with Green on formula presentation, and Nobel Prize came as result. It was a terrible way of packaging subprimes from various areas of country, and in meltdown the banks found they couldn’t sell them, as they could not determine values.
