Alexander McQueen: A Tribute (memorial to noted designer)

The King of Fashion, Alexander McQueen, was eulogized, mourned and remembered at his funeral yesterday. Held at Saint Paul’s Church in London, it was a small, quiet, private affair attended by his family members and friends Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell and Stella McCartney. McQueen had been found dead in his Mayfair (London) home on the 11th of February, the heart-wrenching news came just days after his beloved mother, Joyce, passed on after suffering from a long-term illness. Suspicions had been raised as to whether the fashion legend took his own life after struggling to cope with the overwhelming grief caused by his mother passing.

Born and raised in London, Lee Alexander McQueen came from a modest background. He grew up in a council house in east London with his father, a cab driver. Lee was born on the 17th of March 1969, and his career in fashion was ignited, when he dropped out of school at the tender age of 16 for an apprenticeship at the Savile Row Tailors Anderson and Shepherd. The experience helped him develop his raw skills for tailoring. He continued on in a series of apprenticeships each assisting him to build on his raw talent for tailor and design, of which he would later become famous for. At 21, McQueen moved to Milan to work with Romeo Gigli, and he earned an impressive degree in fashion at the prestigious Central St Martin’s College. His first collection received rave reviews and finally he began to establish himself as a designer. His shows were exciting and unique whilst his styles were sharp and fascinating.

Homosexuals have a much higher rate of suicide. The fashion world has tons of them. The clothes [sic] he designed were like nightmares.

I’m sorry he didn’t seek a way out of his darkness.

I don’t know why. He was obviously mentally unstable, and had tried this before.

To me he seems a classic example of people living hedonistic, self centered lives and then wondering why they are miserable. Even his eulogies said he was foul mouthed, shocking, flaming gay, and insulting. He was known for using skulls in his designs and insulting people. He exuded rebellion. I’ve never known a true rebel to be happy.

I do feel compassion for people like this. I really do. But surprised he died young?

It’s the fruit of leftist secular progressivism - encourage society to live lives on the edge without any regard for old traditions and morality, be surprised when they are destroyed, and cast an eye to fixing the problem by attacking everything but the real problem - which is in the heart and conscience.

These people need to get a grip.
Personally, there were signs before he killed himself, yet not one of the people currently eulogizing him attempted to help.
