Queen's astronomer says aliens 'like us'

ALIENS could be among us - but we just cannot recognize them, Britain's top astronomer has said. The Sun reported that Lord Martin Rees said the visitors might be in a form beyond human understanding.

Lord Rees, president of the Royal Society academy of science and also astronomer to the Queen, said: "They could be staring us in the face and we just don't recognize them."

The respected professor went on: "The problem is that we're looking for something very much like us, assuming that they at least have something like the same mathematics and technology.

"I suspect there could be life and intelligence out there in forms that we can't conceive. "Just as a chimpanzee can't understand quantum theory, it could be there are aspects of reality which are beyond the capacity of our brains."

Lord Rees' comments raise the possibility of aliens being here - in the shape of anyone or anything.

He spoke out shortly after hosting the first conference on the possibility of alien life in the Royal Society's 350-year-history.

He also told highbrow Prospect magazine better telescopes meant the chance of finding life on other planets was "greater than ever."

The Cygnus Bubble is a temporary name for a nearly perfectly spherical planetary nebula found in the Crescent Nebula (NGC 6888) within the constellation of Cygnus. It has yet to be given an official designation by the International Astronomical Union.

It was discovered independently by amateur astronomer Dave Jurasevich and professional Mel Helm in 2008.

Considering that there are stars in our local neighborhood that are billions of years older than the sun, it would not be surprising if interstellar travel has been commonplace for billions of years. Several published papers have concluded that our Milky Way galaxy already has been colonized. Furthermore, it must be noted that travel between star systems is more likely to occur the closer the next system is. Zeta 1 and Zeta 2 Reticuli are both sunlike stars that are less than three light-weeks apart. Observers on a planet around one of them could easily observe planets around the other. One would certainly expect interstellar travel to develop earlier there than in our isolated corner of the neighborhood, where the nearest star to us is one hundred times farther away than the Zeta Reticulans are from each other.

I don’t KNOW that the DNA thing on those scores is fact per se.

I understood that Noah AND wife WERE pure.

IIRC, it came from root word studies of the scriptures concerned . . . perhaps some other additional linguistic analysis as well.

I don’t believe that if it has any valididty that only Noah and not his wife were DNA pure. I agree with you that THAT would make no sense.

It is PLAUSIBLE that satan wanted to pollute Christ’s ancestry on those scores. Doesn’t wreck my theology if it’s true or not true.

There is plenty of anecdotal evidence that the world is under attack from another dimension... Can you expand on that view...

Briefly, the anecdotal accounts I refer to are those in which people who, after initially believing they are being abducted by aliens, conclude that they are being abducted and studied by beings from another dimension.

Usually this change of opinion occurs because they realize that they are being spiritually, physically, and sexually abused AND that the abusers have a distinctly evil character.

John Mack has written and spoken at length as has Bud Hopkins as to the actual accounts though I don't believe either of those two has drawn any conclusion as to what is happening or whether it is imagined or real.

John Mack's accounts (from interviews) cover the abusive nature of the abductions (though Mack himself never seems to suggest anything "biblical" about them).

Finally, the Book of Enoch (1st Book, Ethiopian) provides a backdrop as does Ephesians 6:12...
