ALIENS could be among us - but we just cannot recognize them, Britain's top astronomer has said. The Sun reported that Lord Martin Rees said the visitors might be in a form beyond human understanding.
Lord Rees, president of the Royal Society academy of science and also astronomer to the Queen, said: "They could be staring us in the face and we just don't recognize them."
The respected professor went on: "The problem is that we're looking for something very much like us, assuming that they at least have something like the same mathematics and technology.
"I suspect there could be life and intelligence out there in forms that we can't conceive. "Just as a chimpanzee can't understand quantum theory, it could be there are aspects of reality which are beyond the capacity of our brains."
Lord Rees' comments raise the possibility of aliens being here - in the shape of anyone or anything.
He spoke out shortly after hosting the first conference on the possibility of alien life in the Royal Society's 350-year-history.
He also told highbrow Prospect magazine better telescopes meant the chance of finding life on other planets was "greater than ever."
Very similar! :)
They like us, they REALLY like us.
The better question should be, why do believers in ET assume that they should be benevolent and morally superior to us?
It seems to me the odds would favor it . If you were the Creator , is this the best you could do ? The UFO I saw was far more advanced than anything earthlings have produced . Stupid , primitive me , I was surprised its crew , if any , were not interested in my group at all . Next time I kick over a rock and I am going to ask the ants to take me to their leader . Years ago , I abducted members of the ant species for observation , as I recall it did not end well for them , so I guess I should be glad the aliens ignored my requests for transport off this rock . Maybe there is wisdom in the prime directive .
His forehead and following his brain is too small to be construed as someone possesing Intelligent thought. Too many years of inbreeding methinks. He did take a hag over a very nice looking girl and that proves my point.
It would require significant intelligence to find us and travel here.
If we found and visited other planets with life, good chance we would be mroe nitelligent than them.

Darwin proposed his theory nearly 150 years ago, and it is now supported by an immense weight of evidence. We are, however, fortunate compared to the US in that no major segment of UK religious or cultural life opposes the inclusion of evolution in the school science curriculum."
"Official scientists circa 2010 who believe in UFOs and ETs are hard line Darwinists who hate traditional Judeo-Christian religion."
Whoa if the aliens look like that I’ll gladly pretend to the be leader they are taken to! The only problem is I can’t decide if I like her “look” more in Firefly, Stargate of V. Each one is jaw-droppingly fantastic.
Crab people!
“Why is it that believers in ET life presume that said life is of higher intelligence?”
Because we know there isn’t any intelligent life on Earth. :)
