AUSTIN, Texas (AP) -- The daughter of a man who crashed his small plane into an Internal Revenue Service building called her father a hero for his anti-government views but said his actions, which killed a tax service employee, were "inappropriate."
Joe Stack's adult daughter, Samantha Bell, spoke to ABC's "Good Morning America" from her home in Norway. Asked during a phone interview broadcast Monday if she considered her father a hero, she said: "Yes. Because now maybe people will listen."
Authorities say Stack, 53, targeted the IRS office building in Austin last week, killing employee Vernon Hunter and himself, after posting a ranting manifesto against the agency and the government......

Thank you

O goahead
No. I’ve been there myself. Once you are on their RADAR, they watch you constantly.
Nice free country ya got there.
I’ll bet some folks here think I was exagerating with that description.
No doubt, some here see you as the enemy for posting that.
What? And not be able to enjoy the countless, mindless BS posts??
You're asking an awful lot aren't you? ;^)
This site is teaming with those supporting big government, those with hidden agendas, with their incomes reliant on governmental payrolls, clawing to hold onto to tax payers breaking backs.
My days are numbered, so I have little concern here.
Oh wait...
Nevermind. ;-)
LOL! Always enjoy your “BS”!
Still, I did mis-read the article and have been corrected.
Ever get the feeling that the wheels are coming off the bus?
Yeah... Me too.
Nope. I’ve seen it happen to others. No exaggeration required.
No, I was just trying to get a more complete picture of what sort of scumbag I was dealing with. Thanks - I know now ;)
I find it amazing that some on here will attempt to spin this event into an act of valor. The man he murdered served 2 tours in Vietnam, did 20 years in the army total, was a fixture in his community and his church.
One of the local haz-mat teams practicing across the highway was from my community, Pflugerville. From my office we could hear the sirens and see the smoke, but we didn’t know what had happened.
This event can only fall into one of two categories.
The first being stack was a complete coward by attempting to kill innocent folks. The second being he just went crazy very fast. As in something happened to his brain.
I still remember when Charles Whitman was shooting people from the top of the UT tower. They later found a large tumor on his brain. At any rate, no logical thinking can be attached to what stack did.
At first I thought it was just witless hubris but as you can see, some folks here are going out of their way to to show solidarity with this klown and his evil deeds.
I think your scenario #1 will prove to be the more accurate one. This bozo didn’t want to pay his taxes and spent most of his adult life banging his head against the wall in a quixotic quest to avoid them. Nobody likes paying the taxman, and I daresay most of us have gotten stung by them - I know that I certainly have - but my point in all of this is that FReepers don’t advocate violence against government agencies (unless I’ve missed the bulletin). I’m not a jihadist and I don’t wish to associate with them.
We work to drive the fascists out through legitimate means - not violent anarchy.
I too do not wish to associate with people who would promote violence on innocents. This can never be justified, at least by rationally thinking people.
By the way, I was going to suggest for them to find a dance partner at stormfront. LOL.
Well, moron, are you going to reply after accusing me of saying that rape victims deserve what they get? I didn’t think so. Next time, read the posts better.
“accusing me of saying that rape victims deserve what they get?”
I never made such an accusation. Perhaps you’ve heard of metaphors. If you cannot understand a simple illustration, what’s the point of answering you?
Frankly, I thought the question was rhetorical, or ought to have been. If you had read what Joe Stack wrote you would know as much about it as I do. If you didn’t, I don’t intend to do your homework for you.
Hank
Go away jerk. You made an ass of yourself in that whole thread. You are the one that cannot read.
