THE UNITED STATES ICE HOCKEY TEAM HAS DEFEATED CANADA 5-3!!

USA is the #1 seed, gets the first round bye, and plays the winner of Switzerland-Belarus in the quarterfinals. It also means we won't have to play the Canadians, Russians, or Swedes until the gold medal game, which is big.

NBC did blow it, but it is more disappointing for hockey in general that they did not showcase the game for everyone to see. Great hockey.

It’s kind of hard not to be bitter when your team outshoots, outhustles, outplays the other team and has a 37 year old goaltender who just got his US citizenship in Dec. 2009, and played like a 37 year old American!

Other than that, we’re not bitter.

I really wonder what the breakdown is of all athletes in the games who are actually US Citizens or at least live and train here throughout the year, even though they compete for other countries.
