I supported Duncan Hunter in 2008 and I think he is a great American. But, the simple fact is that he tried running in 2008 primaries and never received more than 2% of the vote. In Michigan he ran behind “undecided.”

To be successful in national politics, you need charisma. Unfortunately, Hunter has little.

Honestly, how much "charisma" does McCain have?

Hunter's problem is that too few people know about him. We rely on the media too much. That's the reason we got McCain as our candidate in 08. The GOP must go back the basics and promote a candidate who represents true conservative values. Then we need to promote this candidate via alternate media sources.

The media will start by ignoring this candidate. When that fails, they'll try to destroy this candidate. Meanwhile, they'll promote the worst possible choice for conservatives.

During the primariees, a lot of FReepers called for us to support McCain because "the media likes him."

No More "Maverick McCains," please!
