After getting into it tonight with another Freeper, I started going through the latest posts. Boy, we are an angry nasty bunch tonight. People are calling each other names and hurling insults. Much more so than "normal."
We should all switch to decaf and hold hands sing kumbaya.
Anyone else good for a group hug?
There is a big difference between being assertive and aggressive and just downright rude.
There used to be at least a bit of decorum here. But if you disagree with a general statement, like “burn the books” (a made up statement of course) you get called a pussy, a RINO, and all sorts of stupid things.
We are beginning to sound like Rosie and Jeanine.
It doesn’t encourage discussion.
Just for the record,
I live in MA and not Vermont. I am NOT gay. I don’t care for Sarah, but I despise MITT. I gave money to Scott Brown. I love my country, and I love my freedoms.
I am an older guy, and I probably wouldn’t hug any of the men here, but would hug most of the women.
I appreciate all of the responses...good and bad. The sense of humor here is great. And I will pray for everyone that disagrees with ME. You need help. (again...a joke.)
So, I will go have a cup of coffee and go off to work today.
Thanks for caring.......(not.)
You’re still here? I hate you. Have a nice day. ;)
Another thought on this. I keep a list of FReepers I will not respond to because of just this. It used to be a very short list that I kept in my head. Lately however, it has been growing rapidly and I've had to write it out (alphabetically) and stick it on my monitor. ;)
Hadn’t noticed, but that’s probably because I’m held in such universally high regard.
You do have a point.
I’m somewhat opinionated myself [ because I’m always right ;) ], and some people might consider that rude. I also like to argue [debate], and some don’t like that either.
*shrug* - I think it might be a symptom of how tense things are getting; if things come to blows/bloodshed in the struggle against tyranny [and I think they will] then you can reasonably bet that government will look places like this for dissenting viewpoints to crack down on.
>lol. Man I am so sick of the Mormon pimping.
So then... the ‘missionaries’ are just scouts to see how well-off your neighborhood is and cost/benefit what running ‘operations’ there would do?

Physician, heal thyself. If you want love and kumbaya, don’t accuse people of being on the side of tyranny because they criticize—not ban, not blacklist, not jail, not lynch, but criticize—some batch of bullying jerks who pick on the vulnerable for kicks.
Who accused anyone of tyranny. I was making the point that the people on that TV show have the right to say whatever they want. At no point did I agree with what they were saying. In fact, I think I said I changed the channel.
That does not make it OK for someone to call me a pussy and make other assumptions about my views on things.
I disagreed agreeably. The other took off.
Then I simply clicked the “latest posts” button, as i often do. In post after post after post I saw horrible name calling, rudeness and general bad behavior.
The people that lead a revolution are generally the ones that can present a position with such a great logical argument that they are followed. What we are seeing here are the rabble that are so easily swayed—and directed to do the dirty work for the “cause.” It is a very slippery slope.
A little decorum amongst ourselves might be in order. We are eating ourselves, when we should take a hint from the Shite and Sunni: Work with each other to kill all of the other enemies before we turn on each other.
Lol, that sounds like one my son would come up with!
Sorry, but Mitt doesn't qualify. He's a swamp creature.
