Get ready for incoming — the We Will Control Your Life For Your Own Good folks are out in force tonight and are girded for battle.
On this issue, “social” Conservatives are both wrong AND impractical. Trillions of dollars and millions of lives wasted and, if I wanted to, I could score any illegal drug I wanted in 20 minutes.
But now the WOD has become a teat which feeds many — and we know what happens when we cut off mother’s milk...
I couldn’t care less what they think and their official government programming is a personal problem.
Let’s see:
Booze = Good
Cigarettes = Mmm, Okay.
Prescription Drugs = Doctor Approved. Really? By the cute girl, who gets paid to up the number of scripts for her product, in her territory?
Well, okay. Then why not let people whose insides have been destroyed by Chemo, to the point they are now on a feeding tube for the rest of their lives and can no longer eat real food, smoke a toke? Or is it better, to all the minds controlled by the government, that be allowed to waste away and die?
You objected when that was pulled on Terry Schiavo. How is this different or is death the natural order of things and if so who should be the final arbiter of when that takes place?
What about the fellow with MS who being wracked with pain and trying every medicine known to man, got sicker from the pills or found them ineffective? Should he remain an invalid for the rest of his life or shall he be afforded the human decency to find relief from eating some marijuana product. (Don’t know what they eat but apparently it provides relief and enables them to function)
What of the person dying from AIDS or an autoimmune disease? Are they less human than you and you feel empowered knowing that? When is their expiration date and who decides the Best if Lived by Date? You, the government, God?
And for the record I spent 4 years as a Sheriff Explorer and cut down $million$ of this stuff and lit a match to it.
I too thought it evil until I found out the true story.
Now the only evil I see are the criminal elements and the lack of quality control on the drug.
I too can walk down the street anywhere in California and get it. Heck I have even seen some happy guys just give it away “To share, not to bogart.”)
Tax it, regulate it and be done with it. BTW, it is a matter of fact this November it will become legal anyway.
The Feds have even recognized it is a boring subject. They aren’t going to bust down the doors of anyone in any state if they are in compliance with the Medical Marijuana laws of their state.
If the Feds have thrown in the towel, what is your problem? Still can’t get that government programming out of your head?
Again, Booze and cigarettes = Okay. Marijuana = Bad?
Oh, and, I am not even a Libertarian, Don’t smoke the stuff or touch it.
