Known as ParadeCam during the Mardi Gras season, Streetcar Cam gives you a window on the corner of Napoleon St. and St. Charles Avenue where the New Orleans streetcars run and Mardi Gras parades begin their route.

What a mess....How long does it take to clean up after Mardi Gras??
Looks like the aftermath of Katrina...
Exactly!
It doesn’t matter how much money you funnel in to some places, nothing will ever change if the people who live there don’t care about their own living spaces enough to PICK UP THEIR OWN TRASH!
You heartless conservative bastard!!
;-)
The trash will be gone by tomorrow. Everyone thinks Mardi Gras is some giant outdoor orgy. There’s a little of that in the French Quarter, but even there if the police see you getting nekked you’re going to jail. Along the rest of the parade route, it’s generally very family oriented.
FrenchQ is great... if you like vomit and urine and rotting garbage.
and what does the immediate aftermath of a NYC ticker tape parade look like? BTW, a huge proportion of the paradegoers, including most of the drunks and troublemakers, are from out of town. But don’t let me stop you from enjoying your smugness.
Yeah but most places don’t invite those kinda people back year after year.
Sidney Torres has it under control
Sidney has it under control and he does a bang up job at it.
Let me explain it to you. It’s a parade. They bring in street sweepers and clean it up at night after the parade is done.
Filthy...
Kinda like the stadium after a UA football game.......
I think taking responsibility for your own trash is a conservative thing not smugness as you claim.
You cannot be serious. Have you ever been to a parade? Nobody does a better job cleaning up after a parade than New Orleans and SDT. The place will be spotless tomorrow. You know, despite the saying, ignorance is not always bliss. You hate New Orleans, we get it. But for your own credibility, come up with a better reason than this.
Maybe you are having a hard time grasping it, but there are close to a million people at these parades and the streets are closed off to trash pickup until after the end of the parade. The trash bins fill up in minutes. Plus there is a ton of stuff being thrown off the floats as part of the parade. Finally I need to emphasize that the majority of these people are from out of town and not residents of the city. I’m not sure why people from Arkansas like to throw trash on the ground, but that is the way it is.
You've got that right, always have (even before Katrina). That's not the reason for posting the web-cam. Let everyone else decide for themselves what they think.
I’m not afraid of that. I think most people know what a parade is like. If that wasn’t your reason for posting it, what was?
