Utah Formally Opposes Global Warming Scam
MensNewsDaily.com ^ | February 12, 2010 | Roger F. Gay

The Utah State Legislature passed a joint resolution urging the United States Environmental Protection Agency 'to immediately halt its carbon dioxide reduction policies and programs and withdraw its "Endangerment Finding" and related regulations until a full and independent investigation of climate data and global warming science can be substantiated.' They are sending a copy of the resolution to the EPA.

It is clear that Utah legislators are fed up and recognize that the weight of evidence points to deliberate fraud by climate researchers, UN climate panel members, and politicians pushing the trillion dollar government programs and industry shake-downs. Last minute changes struck out “conspiracy,” “the climate change gravy train,” “flawed” [climate data], and “tricks, related to” [global temperature data], leaving a more diplomatically written document. But what remains is still clear.

The resolution includes the following findings of fact.

They want to hurry and get this passed before people find out the truth, just like the “Health Care” bill.

The ban that led to the phase-out was key to the Montreal Protocol of 1987, not 1978.

As it turns out, it served as the ‘master’ key to unlocking a vault of increasingly intrusive government programs to ban otherwise harmless man-made and now, natural chemicals.

Target something potentially harmful, enlist a corps of like-minded scientists, charge them with the goal of proving the supposition and then publicize the inevitable success of their endeavors to the largest public office.

The Ozone Hole hasn’t changed appreciably and any measurable changes can’t be directly attributed to the ban on CFCs so it might be considered a wash at this time.

The stakes are even higher today as there is no practical way to remove GHGs from the atmosphere or to ban the creation of them.

We’re still at ‘the back-of-the-envelope’ stage; we can’t witness climate as easy as we can don an umbrella.

“Utah Formally Opposes Global Warming Scam”

I wish more states would follow their example.

Thanks bamahead! As far as I know this is the first effort from any State telling the federales to go pound sand concerning their goofy climate propaganda. Good on 'em!

Utah has cranked up the, er, heat!

This is exactly why I moved to Utah in November after living in NYC for 10 years (I’m originally from Atlanta). Utah believes in capitalism, real science, and the American dream. I love it here!

New York

Sure you have to heat New York. Most of their electrical power comes from coal and oil. If you let the EPA regulate your carbon emissions New York is going to be driven even farther into bankruptcy than it already is. The California hippies may be OK with living in grass huts on the beach and driving Obamamobiles. But the Manhattan elite like their penthouse skyscrapers. And they like the heat in winter and the AC blasting in summer. They are all for environmentalism as long as someone else has to do it. They are not going to oppose the EPA for environmental, scientific, or ideological reasons. It will be cold hard cash.

Remember how the North East liberals were all against government subsidies for Big Tobacco, Big Oil, Big Pharma. Of course none of those are located in the North East. But when Big Banking got in trouble all of a sudden it was bailout time. Limousine liberals like to have limousines.
