” Think it might have a bias in there? “

There was a CBS poll in Jan that had similar results, IIRC.
Discounting bias, they must have some
kernels of truth in them.
Fours years as Veep or a term or two as Governor
or Senator or House member would have given her
much more experience.
That’s the biggest complaint about her-lack of experience.
If the American people were not persuaded in 2008,
that as the sitting Governor of Alaska she wasn’t qualified to ascend to the presidency , should that be required,
what will she have done by 2012 to erase that impression ?
Liz Cheney goes on all the Sunday shows and
knocks it out of the park every time.
Palin is sheltering at FOX and using FaceBook as a shield.
She should go on the non FOX Sunday shows and succinctly say in person,
what is written on her FB.
I also think Palin’s laughing Hopey Changey remarks on Saturday,
combined with the video of her checking her hand
before answering a question
and then using some of the words from her hand in the answer,
reinforced the impression that this is all a lark to her.
That video was a gift to those that don’t think she’s qualified.
I cringed when I saw the clips -
it was shown on the national nightly news shows and the local am and evening news shows ,
besides all the cables.
And of course, the late nights had a field day, as will SNL.
With the media attention that speech garnered,
she could have delivered a policy speech in a serious manner ala Margaret Thatcher or Ronald Reagan or Dick Cheney .
Saturday was a wasted opportunity if she hopes to change the impression held by many voters
that she is not qualified to be president.
And after 4 years of the unqualified mess we have there now,
I think a candidate’s biography and experience will be more important and scrutinized than ever.

Sorry, the bias is ridiculous.

The rest of your post is kind of unreadable, as if you tried to do a rambling iambic pentameter and failed.........

Fwiw, if you think it was Palin that lost the 2008 election and not the extremely bad candidate at the top of the ticket, you may have more serious problems than your bad attempts at poetry. He had the experience you demand, and by your thinking he should be our candidate in 2012.

After reading this thread I’m not sure whether I should be laughing or crying.

Gee, Bob, maybe you can make a Christian-bashing post like you did the other day. After all, you are the one to save conservatism on FR, and who cares if you insult people of faith in the process?

Fair enough. At some point, if Palin wants to win the big enchilada of the GOP nomination, she’ll have to get down and dirty and win it over a grueling campaign. And that would dispel the concerns of all but her more deranged faux conservative critics.

She needs to be elected to something and stick with the job for the full term. US Congress, US Senate, something like that.

Amen!!!
- - - - - - - - - - - - - -

So I guess she should just return to Alaska where she can have no effect on the 2010 elections and can be a target for every crazy lawsuit that dem operatives can lodge against her and for which she is responsible to defend with her own money. If she did that then I would agree that she is stupid. Leaving office was the smartest thing she could have done.

Now if you’re inferring that by not completing her term she left without accomplishments, I don’t think most Alaskans would agree. Her last budget year just closed out with a 2.2 billion dollar surplus and a rainy day fund established. Not bad considering how most other states did in 2009 with much more “experienced” governors. She got the gas pipeline project passed after over 30 years of politicians just talking about it.

Being in the Senate would not be qualifying experience to be President. Presidents have to make decisions while senators are only one one-hundredth of a decision. We have a “senator” in the WH now and look where that’s gotten us.

Not at all! She accomplished quite a bit, considering the short time she was in office. My only point is that, whether we like it or not, she is perceived by many as being a "quitter". No matter how lofty her reasons were she still did not complete her term.

Her negatives are way too high right now, but who knows in two years. I just think she needs a more general, serious environment in which to voice her opinions other than her folksy speeches that are only attended by her fans .

BTW serving in Congress didn't hurt Nixon or Kennedy as far as propelling them into office.

How could you possibly vote for her if she is as bad as you continually claim? I took a quick peak at your in forum posts, and it`s like all you post about is Sarah Palin, and all negative.

I also learned that you kind of admire Joe Scarborough and that you think Politico is fairly balanced. I picked up something that also made me think perhaps you are even a fan of the NY Times? The NY Times thing I am not very sure on, but there was a reference to them that sounded a bit friendly towards them.

As I was saying I am on page 2 of your in forum posts and I would guess that makes up for about 60% of your posts, that being you post mostly about Sarah, but all negative? Now why it`s true I post mostly on Sarah, mine is supportive.

Trying to figure out the Anti Palin crowd here. Perhaps you have made it your mission here to save us all from Sarah? Is that it?

You mentioned Ronald Reagan a couple times, Michael Reagan says he see`s his dad in Sarah, little Ronny the gay ballerina agrees with your take on Sarah and says he is sure his dad would not like her.

Anyway, you probably ask yourself, hey this guy must have a lot of time on his hands to be checking out my in forum posts? Yes I do at the moment, waiting on a train that does not come for an hour and 10.

"How could you possibly vote for her if she is as bad as you continually claim?"

Because irrespective of her qualifications for the office relative to several other GOP candidates, she's still light years better than Barack Obama.

"I also learned that you kind of admire Joe Scarborough and that you think Politico is fairly balanced."

Where I have said that I admired Joe Scarborough, or that I think Politico is fairly balanced? Please cite my posts that make such a claim.

"Perhaps you have made it your mission here to save us all from Sarah? Is that it?"

Here's my problem - really my only problem with Palin. Thus far, she hasn't demonstrated any ability to manage a hostile media. This is a characteristic that any successful national politician needs to grasp, but is something that any Republican candidates needs to master.

Until such a time that she appears on a show that isn't Fox News or talk radio, and handles tough, hostile and belligerent questions from leftist media-types, I won't be impressed, not will I think she capable of defeating Barack Obama. Whomever is the Republican nominee will need to be particularly deft in dealing with a national media corps that is entirely in the bag for the Democrat. So far, Palin just hasn't demonstrated that skill-set.
