Charlie Sheen has been accused of a felony and could face three years in jail. So why is he being given a free pass by the press and Hollywood?
One would think that a major TV star showing up at a courthouse in Aspen, facing domestic violence allegations, would merit a blitzkrieg of paparazzi and press. And yet x17, one of the leading celebrity gossip Web sites, which chronicles every Britney Spears-Starbucks entry and exit, and every step Jessica Biel takes on Robertson Blvd., didn’t even send a photographer when Charlie Sheen showed up in court earlier this week with his wife, Brooke Mueller.
On Christmas day, Mueller called 911 and alleged that Sheen had held a knife to her throat, threatening to kill her. (The couple now seem to be headed for reconciliation.)

If you're going to campaign to have someone fired for calling a homosexual a "fagot", why wouldn't you be equally as outraged when a man is accused of felonious aggravated assault against a woman?
Of course, if Sheen was a conservative, he would have been canned before he made bail.
Charlie Sheen gets away with everything because it was part of his “bad boy” image anyway — same reason Kiefer Sutherland can headbutt a guy, or Russell Crowe can get in barfights without tarnishing their image.
So, when Sheen does something stupid ... people brush it off as expected behavior.

It’s like the old saying, DOG BITES MAN isn’t news, MAN BITES DOG is.
Tiger Woods was news because nobody knew what he was. Everybody knows Sheen is a lowlife. He even plays one on TV.
Charlie can’t go much lower, so nobody really cares what he does. He’ll probably end up in prison or dead in some nasty end. Meanwhile, people just observe his antics.

Why? He makes a ton of money for the network, and that’s all that counts.
I was all behind him when he was nailing cheerleader-themed hookers, two at a time.

And yet PEOPLE still PAY to see his moveies and watch shows he is in. What you need to do is STARVE HIM of INCOME. STOP seeing his movies. STOP watching any shows he is in. Totally IGNORE him. Ridicule him. Mock him. Treat him the way he SHOULD be treated for being such a disgusting human being.

Well, you’d think that being a committed alcoholic, drug abuser and wife beater would be enough (although it wasn’t for Robert Downey jr.), but add to that he’s a 9/11 Truther, with a whole monologue about “controlled implosions” and you’d think he’d find acting jobs hard to find instead of being the highest paid actor on network TV. Oh, well.
Hey, I kinda like Robert Downey Jr. I don't think he ever beat his wife - could be wrong. Clearly, the guy's got substantial drug deamons, but I think he's entirely clean & sober now.
Plus, I've heard he's a bit of a closet conservative since going to rehab and emerging clean.
This is what he said in an interview with the New York Times shortly before Iron Man came out...

Sheen, OTOH, is just a pure reprobate completely void of any and all redeemable qualities.
I agree with you about Downey, though. For years I couldn't stand the sight of him with his stupid 80s haircut and his simpy way of talking, but then in "Iron Man" he was suddenly a grown-up and a terrific comedy actor.

LOL - Your comment made no sense to me until I did a little digging. I had heard that Sheen was arrested, perhaps twice for assaulting a woman (both porn stars/hookers), but I had NO IDEA that he actually shot a woman before. And, not just any woman, but Kelly Preston, Mrs. John Travolta.
If this guy a different last name, he probably would have died in prison years ago.
