I think the ten percent number is pretty accurate. You disagree? Fine. We disagree. From what I’ve seen, half of the ten percent are ‘birther idiots’. Then you have the other conspiracy types, everything from 9/11 ‘truthers’ to the ‘moon landings were faked’ to the laughable ‘bilderbergers’ floating around in the crowds.
I’m not saying the Tea Party movement is made up exclusively of kooks, far far from it. But I am saying, yep, about ten percent are nuttier than your average fruitcake.
Same can be said, confidently, about ANY gathering numbering in large numbers, btw.
And yes, 10% of 100% is a SMALL NUMBER statistically. To say otherwise is just silly...or should I say ‘foolish’?
From what you've seen, 10% are nutty? What are you seeing, the few offbeat signs that the liberal media shows. I've been there. The group is made up of decent citizens who are trying to stop the takeover of our country by a group comprised of 100% of creeps. And you're still wrong about numbers. To say that every 10th person in a Tea Party crowd is nutty is a real insult to the moveement. O'Reilly says it though, so for you, it must be true. He talks out of his ass, tosses a figure out, and you go with it. It's people like you and O'Reilly who perpetuate the lie that Tea Partiers are wacky.
The same can't be said of ANY large gathering. If I attend an upscale wedding, a funeral, Havard's graduation ceremony...there won't be 10% fruitcakes there. I had 250 people at my wedding. Now unless we have different meanings for nutty, loons, crazy - then I can say with confidence that there's no way that 25 nutjobs were in attendance. To say that 10% of ANY large group is nuts is just wrong. It depends on the people who are gathered.
