I liked it and so did my 19 year old son. :-) Of course they do not sound like they did when we were rockin, but I give them credit for actually singing. Poor Daltry was winded towards the end. We are all getting older. I watched an ‘oldies’ show on PBS. Eric Burdon had the whole tropical thing goin’ on. He was dressed like Jimmy Buffet’s father. Regardless, it is good to go down Memory Lane. Did you ever think we would look back at the 60’s and say “Life was so much simpler then.”

Yes, my 19-year-old daughter knows and listens to all the great 60s songs, and was watching at college while we were Skyping back and forth last night. It's really incredible what a fine period of time that was for music, even though some of the music wasn't exactly strong morally.

The Super Bowl was played in Florida, in the stadium that Jimmy Buffett had the regular-season naming rights to for his “Landshark” beer. I was STUNNED they didn’t pick Buffett and the Coral Reefers, who not only would have put on a rockin’ beach party-style show, but also might have got friends like Alan Jackson and Kenny Chesney involved in the fun.

WHAT a missed opportunity!

Age? I went to a HS reunion back in 1991 and there were six members playing left of the Texas Playboys, all in their early 70’s and 80’s. They were absolutely fantastic musicians. Age don't mean nothin’....

When I see the old men from groups like The Who and the Rolling Stones, it makes me sad, not entertained.

You have to know when it is time to go out in class.

The Who need to hang it up as a performing group. Daltry cannot sing at all anymore. At least The Rolling Stones still sound the same and they do not look that bad.
By the way the Who and the Grateful Dead SUCK and always have.

It must be the genre.

I recall watching old performers like Eubie Blake perform on the Tonight Show into his late 80's or 90's.

I recall watching Lionel Hampton perform on the Tonight Show.

Tony Bennett still packs them in in his 80's.

I love The Who and also sensed that the crowed had a deep appreciation for the lyric, “We won’t get fooled again.” That said, it could be meant from either side.

I was impressed with the computerized light show.

Well, Mick Jagger’s hair seems to get blacker every year. I wonder what his secret is? He also doesn’t seem to have any hair loss at his age.

I sure wish I knew how he does it.

That would be Ringo’s son, who has been with the band for I don’t know how many years. I’ve seen them twice. He’s excellent.

I know its Ringo’s son, but I kept looking at him and he looks more like Keith Moon than Ringo. Weird, did Keith sneak one past Ringo?

Daltry wearing his glasses was ridiculous. He can’t go 17 minutes without wearing them? They made him look like a fuddy duddy

Other than that... Very enjoyable
No mistakes and some hard edged nice guitar embellishments on the originals.

I’m glad they go out there with a keyboardist and second guitarist to fill out the sound. I saw the original quartet and they sounded thin in person

The Who are better than the Stones on stage these days. What with a drunken Ron Wood and Mick Jagger dancing strutting like a peacock. That was OK a few decades ago. Now it’s lame and embarrassing. Daltry does not make an ass of himself

Anybody else out there who might be able to do a Super Bowl show who isn’t oversexed, too young to appeal to a wide audience, or a one-hit wonder?

How about Joe Crocker? He is still singing and was one of the best voices of his era.

I saw the LRB in Memphis the summer of 1978....2nd best concert I have ever seen live. I saw the Stones that summer too....LRB just tore up the stage...They were the opening act for Buffet and it was anticlimactic after the LRB left the stage.

I must confess, LRB's "Backstage Pass" was one of my all-time favorite live albums. One half was with an orchestra.

They would be a great choice for Arlington. BTW, is Fox going to be the broadcast network? If so, then they could tie in ‘Bones’ as Billy was cast as Angela’s father. That made for a very nifty sidebar arc a few seasons back.

Journey or Toto would be good too. Even my college age daughter likes them a lot.

"Oh, Canada" is sung EXACTLY the way it was written and intended.

I remember usually they start singing it in English, then the middle in French, then back to English at the end.
