At least they spoke English. You could wander into the lobby or lounge and find someone to talk to.
I couldn’t do that on my boring weekend in Shanghai.
I remember after spending a week in Zhangjiagang (on business), we were thrilled to get to Shangai for three days because we saw other Americans. We almost wept with joy to see a Tony Roma's. We had eaten Chinese food for a week (and I'm not even crazy about Chinese food - here or there) and that barbecued stuff never tasted so good.
you should have been out and about mingling with the commies and soaking up their culture! robt would have! LOL!
