I remember after spending a week in Zhangjiagang (on business), we were thrilled to get to Shangai for three days because we saw other Americans. We almost wept with joy to see a Tony Roma's. We had eaten Chinese food for a week (and I'm not even crazy about Chinese food - here or there) and that barbecued stuff never tasted so good.
i can imagine! i love chinese food here, but would be very leery about eating it over there. in fact the idea of it makes my stomach turn over just a bit!
Key word there. We. Plural.
I'm not much of a "hey let's go roaming around sightseeing on weird forms of transportation by myself" kind of guy.
