...that Audi eco-nazi commercial sent the wrong message at our house...there's too much of that going on right now as it is...I don't need a glimpse into an eco-totalitarian future...I guess the Europeans thought it was very clever, but it disgusted me.
“That Audi commercial was a direct attack on the eco-nazis in the California legislature. Clear as day.”
...aren’t they the ones who are going to outlaw incandecent light bulbs?
Dr Chang made a guest appearance!
Except for a couple Budweiser adds, they all were horrible!
They looked like they were auditioning for "Attack of the Zombie Mods."
Agree, it is disturbing, but that’s the whole point of good satire. It has to be parody precisely because the images are disquieting. A totalitarian trying to sell eco-slavery would do it in a manner calculated to seduce, not repulse. Furthermore, I think I get the message: “The eco-fascists are insane and a clear danger to your freedom and ours, but you can elude them if you buy our car.” It’s a pitch that could work for some.
Another effect (intentional I think) of this commercial is that it helps to show in pictures the logical endpoint of eco-extremism. This is what it will come to if sensible people do not find a way to step back from the precipice. People who would otherwise be out of touch with the encroachments of eco-tyranny will now have a clear, negative image in their mind that will give them a clue what might be coming, give them a reason to resist.
Furthermore, Audi is a business, and many business leaders probably have felt trapped by the popularity of the eco-cult; now, with Climategate, they see an opening, a way to subtly begin fighting their way back to a more reasonable relationship between business and the environment. This commercial could be an opening salvo in that fight. Just sayin ...
California has basically tried to outlaw diesel for passenger vehicles - even pickup trucks...
It doesn’t matter to the enviro-green fascists that the new clean diesel fuel and newly designed diesel engines are a much better answer than hybrids - it is carbon based and OH that is so so so bad !!!
But never mind that the avant-guarde EU finds clean diesel and the new diesel engines to be THE ANSWER to the future...
Such a paradox Greens cannot agree with Greens across the water...
Well, I’m a car buff, and my wife is too...therefore, no resistance. Am I a happy camper? and seriously in debt?
No, not really, but it could have happened.
The Green Poli "blam"...
Yes - exactly - gratuitous ridicule - lots of absurdity - a big helping of sarcasm - the best way to deal with the PC liberal-leftist-progressives....
Drive them to distraction...
I almost forgot that one...don’t touch my momma was pretty good.
Scary commercial - I agree one-hundred percent! Perhaps a peek into our future according to the New World Order?
I thought it was pretty good.
It went as far as they could go without turning it into an editorial spot.
Some people seem to have a stick up their a$$
Oh my - thanks for the link - am roflmao again - this time I got to see all of it clearly ....the first time it was so fast and done so well - I missed a lot of the details.
This is hysterically funny!
Well done, Audi, well done!!!
What a back-firing ad! It made me want to resist the eco-Nazis, and move to a free country and drive a Suburban right over a greenie weanie.
Did your wittle team fall twooo the cracks? (sniff, sniff)
The Audi ad was nothing like the old Mac ad. The Audi ad glorified the eco nazi movement, and offered buing an eco nazi approved car as the solution. Terrible. It advised willing surrender and collaboration to the PC police.
I drove my 454-powered 1994 K-3500 dually just to get breakfast this morning. On top of that, I hit two different restaurants for the grub - sat in the drive-through for one of them. Raced a Ford F-150 on the way home. Beat him to the first stoplight, but the guy had more top-end than I did after the second light.
Looks like we'll be sharing the hangman's noose.
The Simpsons covered it.
I think it was fine. It made fun of the Green police.
I've been aware that the average human IQ has been falling for decades, but it is apparently falling faster than I had thought!
