The WHO is one of my very favorite bands and I consider Pete Townshend a musical genius, but I must agree with you. It’s time for Pete to hang up the old Gibson.

Ditto. My wife and I are both over 45 and thought it was bad

Par for the course as far as recent halftime shows.
But ‘The Who’ is no longer ‘The Who’, rather “The Who on ice”.
How come nobody told Townshend that fist-banging and finger-tapping went out with the David Lee Roth version of Van Halen in the 80’s? I mean, he’s PETE TOWNSHEND for goodness sakes! ACT like it!!!

Yeah, I wouldn’t have started with Pinball Wizard, either. But that was probably a nod to corporate.

How about if they played Sousa, and dispensed with the male and female strippers?

Yeah I actually changed the channel. Bored me to tears that entire halftime show
To: Volunteer
Notice how the stage looked like a big O. “Won’t Get Fooled Again” is a timeless song.
Half the Who sounded good at halftime for a bunch of senior citizens. I was bummed that Pete didn’t jump across the stage at the high point of Fooled, but I guess he didn’t want to break anything.
My all time favorite band. It sucks to get old. Their songs spoke to me as a teenager. Of course I am not going to pop for $100 to see them in concert (maybe $20).
To: Minn
There are only two 60’s rock bands I’ve heard recently that still sound pretty decent:
1) Guess Who
2) Steppenwolf

I hope I die before I get old? Man, they’re old and seriously can’t sing anymore. And I’m a Who fan BTW. I did think Ringo’s son was great.
The NFL trotting out all these bands from 40 years ago would be like if the NFL featured Rudy Vallee during the Super Bowls of the ‘70’s. It would be like if the teenagers from the 1930’s couldn’t let go of their youth.

It says that there isn’t a lick of actual talent in today’s crop of music groups. Even a geriatric The Who has more talent than anyone of the new crop.

I know they are afraid of another wardrobe malfunction, but could they get someone under 70 for halftime. Besides when they said the WHO was doing the halftime i wanted to know WHO is playing base and WHO is playing drums. Half the band is dead. Perhaps they should get together with the Beatles who only have a base player and a drummer and go on tour as the Whotles. A geasers of rock and roll celebration.

I don’t get it either. They rocked better than 99.9% of modern day bands yet most here are whining.

On the plus side, at least it wasn’t an Obama-supporting nitwit, like last year.
