I'm trying to understand what it says about the state of American music and culture that, in every Super Bowl half time show since the wardrobe malfunction, a song less than 30 years old hasn't been sung.
I have plenty of fond memories of the Stones, Bruce, and to a far lesser extent, the Who. But what will the NFL do when all these guys are dead?
They are having the afterparty at Shady Manor Nursing Home. Free Geritol Shots..Don’t miss it.
They are old and worn, yes. But what do you expect from 70’s rockers? Actually, the last tune ‘We Won’t Get Fooled Again” is spot on, if you’re looking for a message to or from the voting public!!!!!! Eh?????
Gotta love Daltreys 60ish blue glasses and Townsends bouncy old pale stomach. Pathetic!!!!
I don’t get it . . . some people won’t be satisfied unless they see (and hear) Disney’s latest boy-band.
There isn’t anything good and original nowadays. It’s all glitz and distractors to hide the non-talent.
Never been a fan of the Who. They must of sounded a whole lot better when there was free drugs/love. Couldn’t they have found a more up to date band to do the half-time show?
They should re-tire? Not with the tire commercials.
I’m over 45 and I thought they sounded terrible. Part of it was them and part of it was the sound mix - very unflattering at least for the TV audience. Maybe it sounded better live.
Was that skinny musician in the white shirt hired because he kind of looked like Townsend did three decades ago?
I watched em for half a minute. During that time...they sucked.
I changed the channel.
I only hope the We Wont Get Fooled Again part doesn’t go unnoticed by the Dimocrats.
They got off to a slow start then finished strong.....The light show was good......sure beat the “rent-a-fans” that are usually part of the half time show.....
yes that was zak. i love the who, enjoyed the show
but i think their voices are shot. but not as bad as dylan.
they should have the killers next year.
Bingo. And Pete Townshend at 80 will still rock harder than some “artist” from Seattle wearing black fingernail polish at 20.
Yes, and yes.
...and they sounded GREAT ... and they still can rock ...I just hope I'm able to dance around like Pete when I'm 64 ...
They DID sound terrible.
To the poster who asked what would the NFL do when these old rockers all died off, I say that this halftime show proves that they are willing to keep using them after they are dead.
Damn , the Captain and Tennile get robbed of the slot again!!!!!
